TV star Carol Vorderman has issued an update on her health, after she stepped down from her radio show last year.
Appearing on This Morning today (October 22), Carol sat down with hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley to discuss the incredible Pride of Britain Awards, which she hosted earlier this week. But while on the sofa, the hosts took the opportunity to ask about her health.
Carol then revealed she has suffered quite a lot of pain in the past year, revealing she has been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis.

She told the hosts: “I was a workaholic, as you know, for decades. I hit burnout last year. But I’m a gym bunny and did my rotator cuff in.
“By the time I had my bloods done in December, I had an inflammatory marker, a CRP, which should be five or below. And it was nine because I had this rotator cuff issue.”
But that’s where things began going a bit more wrong for Carol, and she ended up getting another diagnosis, which left her “crying in pain”.
She revealed: “I had some jabs, let’s say, I don’t want to get started on that. Suddenly, I had chronic and sudden rheumatoid arthritis within two days.
“My hands were twice the size. I couldn’t move without crying in pain. Chronic pain for months and months while they found the right medication. The NHS has been superb.”

She would ‘live that year again’ despite illness
Carol proceeded to praise the NHS for its help, confirming that she is now on the “right drugs”.
But in a surprise admission, she revealed she would actually relive the last year because it gave her a break from the constant work.
“Do you know what? I would live that year again because it has been like an intervention. Suddenly, I appreciate everything in my life. I have always been quite positive but every single little thing, every wonderful person. I have been seeing old friends who I haven’t seen in years. Now I’m back to being a bit of a party animal.”
Carol’s update comes days after she revealed to OK! that the last year has been “hellish health-wise”.
She told the outlet: “I have been very poorly, not related to the burnout but something entirely different.
“I am on the right medications now, but it has only been the last month or so that I have felt I got my mojo back. So, watch out world!”
