It’s a case of going from reporting on gossip to being the subject of it.

A familiar face from morning TV has reportedly enjoyed a secret romance with a high-profile BBC presenter but kept it firmly under wraps. The star in question is none other than Lorraine’s long-time showbiz correspondent Ross King, who insiders say grew close to the unnamed BBC woman following the breakdown of his marriage to stunning LA-based producer Brianna Deutsch.

The 63-year-old Scottish broadcaster, known for delivering Hollywood gossip straight from Los Angeles, has had a glittering career spanning decades, from radio and acting to TV presenting. He’s currently appearing on Strictly Come Dancing alongside the gorgeous professional dancer Jowita Przystal. King previously tied the knot with Deutsch in a romantic ceremony in 2015, but the pair then quietly separated. Rumours later swirled that King had grown close to a well-known BBC presenter.

Sources close to the star say the relationship only began after his split with Deutsche. A source shared with The Sun: “They had been friends for a while, but nothing happened until long after he and Brianna were separated.

“They kept it quiet because of who they both are. Neither of them wanted the pressure of it being in the spotlight or people speculating.”

Express.co.uk has contacted King for comment.

The showbiz correspondent has long been a trusted face on British screens, particularly through his transatlantic segments on Lorraine and Good Morning Britain, where he regularly interviews A-listers and reports from red carpets however he struggled with an emotional first weekend in the ballroom.

King was seen choking back the tears as he spoke about having his “confidence knocked” following his first stint on the show’s famous dance floor.

In week one, King and his dance partner sadly only scored 10 points for their Cha Cha Cha to California Gurls by Katy Perry, with Ross saying during week two of the competition that he’d had his confidence knocked as a result. But the dancing duo were seen upping their score during week two on Saturday (October 4) night, as they were awarded 15 for their waltz to Sunshine On Leith by The Proclaimers.

King declared himself the poster boy for “older men” who “can’t dance”
