Beat the Chasers is set to return with a fresh episode this Sunday night, where host Bradley Walsh puts the Chasers under the spotlight. The popular ITV quiz show, currently in its seventh series, pits contestants against the Chasers in a high-stakes battle for cash prizes.

In an exclusive preview of this Sunday’s episode (Sunday 5 October), 65 year old host Bradley quizzes The Chasers – Mark Labbett, Shaun Wallace, Anne Hegerty, Paul Sinha, Jenny Ryan and Darragh Ennis – about their tight-knit relationship.

Bradley probes: “Now, we know that you all have to get on and work as a team… but which one of you is the most annoying…” He then turns to each Chaser individually, beginning with Darragh, also known as The Menace on the show, who retorts: “Oh, Mark!”

Next in line is The Governess, Anne, 67, who promptly responds: “Mark!” Bradley then questions The Sinnerman, Paul, 55, who affirms: “Mr Mark Labbett, The Beast!” while The Vixen, Jenny, 43, and The Dark Destroyer, Shaun, 65, both also single out Mark.

After all the Chasers unanimously nominate Mark as “most annoying”, Bradley then asks The Beast, Mark, 60, for his response who jests: “The guy in front of me at the dinner queue! No, let’s face it, it’s me!”

This revelation follows Mark’s recent candid admission about his personal life, confessing he prefers watching TV to seeking romance. Despite his stint on the latest series of Celebs Go Dating, the professional quizzer maintains he is content with his own company.

He appeared on the popular E4 dating programme to secure expert guidance and bring his single status to an end.

Mark, famously recognised as the Beast on the ITV quiz show, enrolled after his marriage to wife Katie ended, who is 27 years his junior.

The pair separated in 2020 and Mark subsequently began a relationship with TV presenter Hayley Palmer, though this too concluded.

Despite going on multiple dates during the reality show, he struggled to forge a meaningful connection and appears to have emerged more satisfied with his solitary lifestyle.

He’s adamant that he’s “very happy on my own”. “If you want to do something then you do it, like if I want to watch that film then I do it,” he revealed to the Daily Mail.

“Saturday mornings, I put Sky Sports on and I stay in all weekend. That’s heaven. Some people have to be in a relationship but I’m not that bothered about it now, and I am pretty comfortable being on my own.”
