Buckingham Palace was forced to delete a birthday post dedicated to Princess Anne, after a huge blunder regarding her family. The Princess Royal is turning 75 on Friday, August 15, and on Wednesday, the Palace released a list of 75 facts about the King’s sister to celebrate her milestone birthday.

But one of them sparked confusion among royal watchers and fans alike, who quickly spotted it, forcing the Palace to take down the whole post. Fourteenth on the list, the Palace wrote that the Princess Royal has two stepchildren from her second marriage to her current husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.

Buckingham Palace has now removed the page from its website, even though it still shows up on Google, while it has also deleted its tweet on X.

Princess Anne has two children from her first marriage to Captain Mark Phillips, Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips.

The princess married Sir Tim, a retired Royal Navy officer in December 1992. Unlike Anne, he had not been previously married and no children from a previous marriage or relationship were ever mentioned.

A user who spotted the blunder wrote on X: “#14 Tom and Amy Laurence? Either I’ve gone crazy or Sir Tim Laurence has secret children.

“Pretty sure this is an error, but how did that happen? I can’t think of any Tom & Amy siblings in the extended royal family.”

Another one said: “That would be the best hidden royal secret ever.”

A third one commented: “This is not true. Sir Tim does not have children from a previous relationship.”

A fourth one questioned: “That is so odd? Could it be an AI mistake? Someone at BP made that list with chatgpt but didn’t check it? Otherwise that would be one heck of a plot twist.”

A fifth one exclaimed: “Wild.”
