NCIS favourite Michael Weatherly has joined forces once again with Cote de Pablo for their spin-off NCIS Tony and Ziva which devotees have been anticipating for over ten years.
NCIS Tony and Ziva premiered on Paramount+ this month, chronicling the subsequent adventures of Tony DiNozzo (portrayed by Michael Weatherly) and Ziva David’s (Cote de Pablo) existence in Paris.
The eagerly-awaited spin-off arrives five years following the revelation that Ziva had staged her demise in Israel before reconnecting with Tony and their daughter Tali (Isla Gie).
Speaking to Screen Time, Weatherly revealed what returning to their legendary characters has been like.

He started: “The hero’s journey for both Ziva and Tony and as a unit with them and Tali, the heroic epic cycle of their adventure, stepping back into that, you have deja vu, you have nostalgia, you have a little bit of a creaky sense of time.
“But it was like a dream house where you visit where you grew up and it’s not quite the same as you remember but you have a lot of feelings about it.”
Weatherly went on to explain: “It’s almost like an album.
“There’s 10 episodes and each one is a song of its own and we are exploring what it means to rebuild trust and move past this truce that Tony and Ziva have entered, this fragile treaty between them.
“And that gets ruptured by this hacker attack and all the intrigue and disaster that follows and putting their child in jeopardy and their own lives.
“They have to figure out a way forward together so it’s a challenge.”
In a shocking revelation during the fifth episode of NCIS Tony and Ziva, viewers discovered that their ally Henry (James D’Arcy) at Interpol wasn’t the betrayer they suspected.
Instead, it emerged that his superior, Interpol’s Secretary General Jonah (Julian Ovenden), was the mastermind behind the deception – ultimately delivering fatal stab and gunshot wounds to Henry.

D’Arcy revealed to USA Today that this conclusion proved especially poignant due to his real-life friendship with Ovenden.
He explained: “Jonah, who killed me twice, is played by my best friend Julian Ovenden.
“I was the best man at Julian’s wedding. I’m the godparent to one of his children. He’s godparent to one of mine.
“And the glee on his face as he stabbed me and then shot me was sheer unadulterated joy.
“He even begged for another take. It kind of ruined my day.”
