Television presenter Kaye Adams has spoken publicly for the first time about her removal from BBC Radio Scotland, revealing the corporation has yet to inform her about specific allegations that led to her being taken off air.
The 62-year-old broadcaster described experiencing “three of the most distressing weeks of my professional life” following her suspension from the morning programme she has hosted for over a decade.
Ms Adams last presented her three-hour phone-in show on October 6 before BBC Scotland management removed her from broadcasting duties.
The presenter, who earns £155,000 annually for her radio work, stated: “BBC Scotland has still not provided me with any details of the allegations which have been made against me.”

The Loose Women panellist expressed frustration that her reputation has been damaged whilst the investigation continues without her knowledge of the specific complaints.
“After three of the most distressing weeks of my professional life and seeing my previously untarnished name publicly dragged through the mud,” Ms Adams said in a statement released through the Mail on Sunday.
The veteran journalist, who has worked in broadcasting for four decades, revealed she has received overwhelming backing from industry contacts.
She stated she had been “inundated with messages of support from people who I have dealt with both personally and professionally over the decades and I thank them from the bottom of my heart.”

Kaye Adams has broken her silence on her BBC axe
Ms Adams has remained silent until now whilst BBC Scotland conducts its internal investigation into her conduct at the Glasgow-based station.
The BBC’s investigation into Adams centres on claims about her behaviour spanning several years, with current and former Radio Scotland colleagues being interviewed by corporation officials.
Sources within BBC Scotland revealed the probe was triggered by concerns about an alleged incident during a staff debriefing attended by Adams and Victoria Easton Riley, the broadcaster’s new Head of Radio.
Adams firmly rejected suggestions of any confrontation, stating: “I remember Ms Easton Riley standing at the back of a debrief meeting – in an open plan office – on one occasion, but there was certainly no shouting on my part. It’s not my style.”
The internal review forms part of BBC’s Call It Out initiative, established following high-profile misconduct cases involving MasterChef presenters Gregg Wallace and John Torode.
Mr Wallace faced dismissal after 45 allegations over 19 years were substantiated, whilst Mr Torode was terminated for using racist language.
A BBC Scotland insider revealed: “The Call It Out campaign is everywhere now and that’s what has prompted people to come forward about Kaye.”

Despite her radio suspension, ITV has confirmed Adams will continue her role on Loose Women, where she has appeared for 19 years.
Colleagues at the daytime programme reportedly regard her as one of the panel’s “calmer members.”
BBC Scotland declined to discuss individual cases, with a spokesperson stating: “We would not comment on individuals.”
