Love Island star Harry Cooksley has ‘proved the doubters wrong’ on his first day back from Majorca.

The footballer entered the ITV villa on day one and made it to the final, landing in second place alongside Shakira Khan, 22.

Now, the 30-year-old reality star has taken to TikTok to share his personal life with fans. In a vlog-style video posted on August 8, Harry walked viewers through his journey from Spain, which kicked off at 3am.

Once home, the Guildford lad headed to a supermarket that he reminisced about during his time in the villa.

“This whole experience has been wild and I’ve been wondering what life’s gonna be like after. It is gonna be so weird,” he says in the clip.

He continued: “I proved some of the doubters wrong, I headed straight to Aldi to pick up the essentials.”

Harry briefly played a clip from Love Island in which he and Shakira discussed life after fame, and Shakira voiced concerns that they wouldn’t be able to do normal tasks like shopping at Aldi anymore.

The intimate conversation took place as the pair were rekindling their romance, after Harry had established a partnership with fellow OG Islander Helena Ford.

Despite his newfound fame, the Farnham Town player had no hassle shopping at Aldi.

Elsewhere in the now-viral video, Harry explains that he also visited his mother on his first days back home.

“So weird being away from her for the last couple months. We’re so close, I see her every week, so it was lovely to spend some time and spill some of the tea on the Island,” he added.

The ITV star had a rocky journey in the dating show. He paired up with Shakira early in the series, but their romance fell apart when he sparked a flirtatious relationship with Helena.

Frustrated by the love triangle, the 22-year-old called it quits with Harry, leaving him paired up with Helena for a majority of the show.

However, the pair later reunited when Shakira revealed she still had feelings for Harry.

Despite recoupling just days before the final, Harry and Shakira were crowned runners-up, earning 26% of the public vote.

As the curtain falls on the 2025 series of Love Island, post-villa reality beckons and it promises to be vastly different for each of the ITV hopefuls.

Whilst certain stars might secure lucrative multi-million-pound endorsement opportunities, others are discreetly heading back to their regular jobs, leaving the sparkling allure of celebrity status behind.

A PR expert has now offered his post-villa forecast, pinpointing those poised for stratospheric success. Speaking to the Daily Star in partnership with casino.co.uk, Rich Wilson shared that for a coveted fast fashion or cosmetics contract, he’s backing part-time Disney princess Shakira Khan for the top spot.

He explained: “This is always a highly-coveted role from the Love Island cast, and although rumours have surfaced in past years that the ambassador is pre-picked, it’s a far more likely scenario that huge, well-known brands bide their time as the show progresses before picking ambassadors.

“Although PLT don’t collaborate generally with Love Island stars now, other brands such as Glamify, L’Oreal Paris and EGO have in the last couple of years. The likes of Grace Jackson and Uma Jammeh have done very well in this regard in recent years, earning six-figure deals.

“From the 2025 cohort, it’s easy to envisage Shakira Khan making a similar amount, whether through fashion deals or other avenues. She had quite the journey on the show, originally being paired with Harry Cooksley, before he ended things to reunite with Helena Ford.

“Shakira won fans over with her personality, looks and enjoyed heart-warming moments in the final week, as she and Harry eventually reunited just before the final.

Toni

“Elsewhere, the previously discussed Helena, brutally dumped a day before the Love Island final, would be a popular choice amongst fans, with that scene and sympathy towards her still fresh in the memory of fans.”

But when it comes to the world of podcasting, which many Islanders have turned their talents to post-show, expert Rich thinks winner Cach Mercer would be a great choice.

The expert explained why and said: “A big, likeable personality is needed for this, as we’ve seen with the work of Olivia Attwood in recent years, and someone like Cach could be perfect as a future podcaster or presenter.

“Funny, charismatic and full of charm, Cach is one of the most-liked Love Island contestants in recent history. Even regardless of his status as a ‘winner’ of the show, the East Londoner would have likely found success after Love Island.

“It’s easy to imagine him hosting his own podcast or perhaps hosting/judging his own dance show on the likes of ITV, given his background as a professional dancer. The Strictly audience might not be quite his stage yet, but that’s the kind of prime-time show which could lie in wait for Cach.”

But who could become the most famous out of the 2025 bunch? According to our expert, fellow winner and Las Vegas party girl Toni Laites.

He revealed: “Cach’s partner Toni could emerge as the most famous contestant from the 2025 edition of Love Island.

“A pool server in Las Vegas, brash and full of energy, Toni and Cach’s relationship is one of the most popular in recent years of Love Island, but she very much brought her own personality to the show.

“From calling series villain Harrison ‘a p****’, to calling out some of the bombshells, the American was unapologetically herself throughout.

“It’s very easy to see her as a new regular on our TV screens, and Toni could earn millions through brand partnerships, TV hosting and social partnerships.”

Andrada Pop and Ben Holbrough

Yet, as happens annually, certain contestants will fail to make their mark in the entertainment world and will inevitably return to their previous lives before finding fame.

PR expert Rich observed: “A few Love Islanders (including 24 hour turnaround contestant Ryan Bannister) are already reportedly back at the day jobs.

“Ben Holbrough and Andrada Pop split not long after leaving the villa. He struggled for a long time to form any meaningful connections with anyone on the show, despite being one of ‘the OGs’, and never really looked to be in love with the TV lifestyle.

“Many thought that Dejon Noel-Williams was lucky to still be with Meg towards the end, given his flirtatious actions towards other girls in the villa; it can be difficult to pick up TV work if you’re deeply unpopular with the fans.

“He works as a Personal Trainer in London, and it’s very easy to see him going back down that route.”
