During Wednesday’s edition of Good Morning Britain, presenters Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley updated ITV viewers on the day’s headlines, including the announcement that junior doctors were embarking on a five-day strike.
However, as the show drew to a close, viewers discovered that Susanna would be absent from their screens for the foreseeable future as she prepares to take a festive break.
She remarked: “Good Morning Britain, back tomorrow from six. I’m goodbye for Christmas! I will see you next year, now it’s time to join Lorraine. Happy Christmas.”
Susanna’s temporary departure from the programme follows the revelation that their colleague Andrew Pierce had presented his final episode of Good Morning Britain.
