SH0CK: Strictly Come Dancing Star Sends Fans Wild With Huge ‘It’s Officially Happening’ Announcement

Strictly: Thomas Skinner and Amy voted off the show

Amy Dowden has revealed to fans that ‘it’s officially happening’ in a significant announcement just weeks following her departure from Strictly Come Dancing.

The professional dancer was devastated to exit the BBC One dancing competition after she and celebrity partner Thomas Skinner became the opening pair to be sent home from the 2025 series.

Their journey ended when they delivered an unexpected salsa to Bonkers by Dizzee Rascal and Armand van Helden in week two, which secured them merely a two from judge Craig Revel Horwood.

Following the combination of judges’ marks from the opening two live performances with public voting results, Thomas and Amy discovered themselves facing the series’ inaugural dance-off against former rugby player Chris Robshaw and professional partner Nadiya Bychkova, whom the panel ultimately chose to rescue.

During their exit, Amy held back tears whilst paying homage to her dancing companion, expressing she had “made a new friend for life” and felt “gutted he didn’t get to do the ballroom”, reports the Manchester Evening News.

However, the performer, who encountered a breast cancer diagnosis in 2023 that prevented her participation in that year’s series, before a foot injury curtailed her involvement last year, subsequently made a heartbreaking confession. “I lost all confidence as a dancer,” she revealed.

Yet whilst praising Thomas, the Welsh performer continued: “But walking into the room with you with a massive smile and a laugh, you brought me back and, honestly, thank you.”

However, Amy has been keeping herself occupied, continuing to appear live in the ‘Clauditorium’ each Saturday evening as the current series progresses.

She’s now revealed that 2026 is already shaping up brilliantly, with plans to embark on another tour alongside her Strictly colleague and mate, Carlos Gu.

Supporters will recall that the duo previously took to the road for their inaugural joint-headline tour earlier this year, called Amy and Carlos: Reborn, which ran throughout March and into early April.

The series of performances proved a massive success for the pair, fulfilling their personal “dream” of taking to a West End stage at London’s Adelphi Theatre.

Now, they’re set to repeat the magic once more. Breaking the news on Friday (October 24), Amy shared a poster featuring the show alongside fresh dates, writing: “It’s officially happening and ON SALE FROM TODAY!”.

“Who’s rrrrready for Reborn 2.0! I certainly can’t wait to be doing what I love most on stage around the UK with my best friend and incredibly talented cast! It was so special and meaningful last time we had to be back!”.

Fans were quick to express their excitement, with one writing: “So proud of you ! ! so excited for this.” Another commented: “So so excited.” A third person wrote: “It’s happening. So proud of you both!!”
