SHOCK: Prince Harry bombshell leaves Good Morning Britain viewers ‘disgusted’
Good Morning Britain viewers have been left divided after the ITV programme made Prince Harry’s reported plans for a Princess Diana documentary its top story.
During Tuesday morning’s show, Susanna Reid told viewers that the Duke of Sussex is said to be considering a new project about his late mother to mark the 30th anniversary of her death.
Diana died aged 36 following a car crash in Paris in 1997.
Introducing the story, Susanna said: “Our main news this morning, Prince Harry reported to be in talks to make a documentary about his late mother, Princess Diana, next year, which would mark 30 years since she died.”
She added: “Sources say the Duke is still considering the most meaningful way to honour her legacy.”
GMB Poll Shows Viewers Divided
Co-host Ed Balls then turned attention to Harry’s uncle, Earl Spencer, whose new memoir about Diana has also generated significant controversy.
“Harry’s uncle, Earl Spencer, meanwhile, is continuing to cause controversy with Piers Morgan announcing he’s taking legal action over claims made about Piers in that memoir which is published today,” Ed said.
The Good Morning Britain X account later asked viewers directly: “Is it right for Prince Harry to do a documentary on Diana?”
At the time reported in the source, 33 per cent of respondents had voted yes while 67 per cent had voted no.
The unscientific social media poll reflected the response of people who chose to participate and should not be taken as representative of the wider public.
Nevertheless, the question sparked a heated discussion in the comments.
Some Viewers Accuse Harry of ‘Cashing In’
Several viewers criticised the reported documentary, with some alleging that Harry’s motivation was financial.
One wrote: “Disgusting, Diana should be left in peace. No more books or documentaries.”
The same viewer accused both Harry and Earl Spencer of profiting from Diana’s story and disputed allegations made in Spencer’s memoir.
Another commented: “Only doing it for money and to destroy royal family for the gullible people who believe him.”
Those claims reflect the opinions of individual viewers and there is no evidence in the source establishing that Harry’s reported documentary plans are motivated by money or an attempt to damage the Royal Family.

Another viewer argued that both Harry and Spencer had used Diana’s legacy commercially.

Some viewers argued that Harry should be free to remember his mother in whichever way he believes is appropriate.
One wrote: “It’s HIS mother not the public’s! He has every right to do what he wants!”
Another sympathised with the Duke, commenting: “Poor Harry what ever he does everyone moans give him a break.”
The split response highlighted how discussion around Diana remains deeply emotional nearly three decades after her death.
For some viewers, another documentary risks reopening a story they believe should now be left alone.
For others, Harry’s position as Diana’s son gives him every right to decide how he wishes to honour her memory.
