Strictly Come Dancing star bids emotional farewell to Emmerdale co-star

An Emmerdale actor was inundated with messages of support as they departed the ITV soap following 17 years on screen.
During this week’s episodes, Noah Dingle departed the village for a fresh employment opportunity in Dusseldorf, Germany, in what appeared to be an abrupt and unforeseen exit. In reality, Noah only informed his mother Charity Dingle at the eleventh hour this week, leaving her simultaneously stunned and heartbroken.

Viewers were left perplexed by the scenes, questioning whether this marked a permanent departure for Noah and now actor Jack Downham has confirmed his departure from the ITV soap after 17 years.
Jack, 24, who has portrayed Noah since 2009, wrote on Instagram: “Noah Dingle over and out. What a b****y beautiful place to have worked for 17 years!”, adding in another post: “So grateful for the past 17 years and thank you all for your support for me and Noah! ! !”.
In response to the post, Jack’s Emmerdale colleagues were swift to comment and offer an emotional goodbye to the soap star, reports the Daily Star.

Lawrence Robb, who plays Mackenzie Boyd, wrote: “You’re just a dream boy! Smash it! Fly fly fly!”.
It comes as Lawrence was recently announced for Strictly Come Dancing 2026, he said of joining the hit BBC One series: “I don’t know who’s more excited about this, me or my Mother.
“I can’t quite believe that I am going to be getting my dancing shoes on this September on one of my favourite shows of all time! It’s a dream come true, and I can’t wait to bring my all to ballroom. Wish me luck, and any advice is very welcome – trust me I’ll need it!”
Meanwhile, Katie Hill, who plays Sarah Sugden, wrote of Jack’s exit from Emmerdale as Noah: “Can’t wait for this next chapter for you exciting times ahead, love you” with a heart emoji.

Ash Palmisciano, who plays Matty Barton, penned: “Ah missed already mate! Can’t wait to see what you get up to! You’re a top lad you! x”.
Amelia Flanagan, who plays April Windsor, said: “Go smash it! You’ll be missed” with heart hand emojis. Meanwhile, Laura Norton, who plays Kerry Wyatt, added: “Absolute angel. That pic of you and Emma [Atkins, who plays Noah’s mum Charity Dingle]. Can’t wait to see what you do next.
“The most lovely young man. We will miss you lots like jelly tots. I’ll never forget you launching yourself into that hole in the ground!”
Meanwhile, Bradley Johnson, who portrays Vinny Dingle, wrote: “You’re an absolute legend Jack! Go smash it mate x” with Shebz Miah, who plays Kammy Hadiq, chiming in with: “Some boy! Go out there and smash it x.”
