Katya Jones and Amy Dowden appeared on It Takes Two
Strictly Come Dancing professional Katya Jones playfully teased her former husband Neil Jones during her appearance on the show’s spin-off programme, It Takes Two.
The dancer featured on the programme this week alongside fellow Strictly star Amy Dowden, as the duo took part in the latest professional challenge. Whilst discussing which of their colleagues might excel at a Samba-based task, Amy put forward Neil, who also stars on the BBC ballroom programme.
However, Katya expressed confusion over why Neil’s name had been mentioned, laughing as she revealed they “were never good” at that particular dance.
During the segment, both Katya and Amy attempted to execute as many Samba steps as possible before judge Shirley Ballas, with the challenge requiring them to balance pace with precision, as any incorrect movements would be disqualified. Ultimately, Amy triumphed over Katya, achieving a score of 33 and claiming the top position on the leaderboard.

Whilst Katya considered the question, Amy suggested that Neil – to whom Katya was married for six years – would do well when his turn came.
“Out of the pros left, who do you ladies think will be a good challenger for the 33 at the top?” Janette asked.

“I am saying Neil this year,” said Amy. Looking surprised, Katya questioned her: “Why does everyone say Neil? We were never good at Samba!”
“Well we will have to wait and find out, there is still plenty more to go,” Janette responded, as the dancers laughed.
“Neil will love you for that one!” she remarked to Katya.

The separation followed months after Katya was photographed kissing her celebrity dance partner Seann Walsh during an evening out, an incident for which both issued apologies and which Katya described as a “one-off mistake”.
Nevertheless, a spokesperson for the couple emphasised at the time that the kiss was not the cause of their separation
