Piers Morgan discusses Prince Andrew
Piers Morgan has made a plea live on BBC Breakfast to Prince Andrew after emails reportedly came to light revealing that the royal asked the Met Police to ‘dig up dirt’ on accuser Virginia Giuffre. The disgraced royal, who has long denied any sex crime allegations against him, is said to have given a Met bodyguard the date of birth and social security number of Giuffre after a photo of them together was made public.
Leaked emails also reportedly revealed that Andrew contacted Jeffrey Epstein in 2011, despite telling Emily Maitlis in his infamous Newsnight interview that he ceased contact with him in 2010. He reportedly told Epstein that they were “in this together”.
Speaking on BBC Breakfast today, ex GMB star Piers Morgan spoke about the scandal. “The problem is it’s now death by a thousand leaked emails,” he said. “Clearly Andrew was dishonest in the answers he gave to Emily Maitlis, your former colleague, when that infamous Newsnight interview aired.

“We now know that some of the statements he made, that he didn’t have any contact with Epstein after this date, were lies. We’d been warned through other leaks there is more to come. The question is how much more? And how much more damaging is it?”
He added that Prince Andrew can’t “suffer” more in terms of humiliation, but highlighted that no men have been made accountable for the 2,000 young women reportedly abused.

“Where are the men who were up to this with Epstein?” he said. “I don’t know what Andrew did or didn’t do. I do know if you remember he said, ‘I’m going to go to court against Virginia Giuffre. I’m going to clear my name. I’m looking forward to it.’
“At the last minute, he caved and paid millions of dollars to somebody he says he never met. That doesn’t pass my journalistic smell test. When you now know from these emails that he’s been lying about the period that he knew Epstein, you do begin to ask as Emily said on Laura Kuenssberg yesterday, ‘If he’s lied about that, how many other lies did he tell?'”

Piers Morgan appeared on BBC Breakfast today
He ended his point by sending a direct message to Prince Andrew live on air. “If I was Andrew – if you’re watching this,” he said. “Come and do a big interview with me and let’s go through everything.”
BBC Breakfast host Sally Nugent interrupted to say: “Or me.” To which Piers replied: “Probably me. But actually go through everything now and just be honest. There’s a power from genuinely being honest and I think at the moment, he hasn’t been fully honest about this.”
On This Morning today, King Charles’ friend and broadcaster Gyles Brandreth gave an update on how the monarch is doing in light of the reports. Ahead of his visit to the Vatican, Gyles said of the King: “This really means something to the King. He cares about it. He prays, it’s a very special moment and he’s all about bringing people together.
“To have these distracting headline when he’s trying to do something for human relations, international relations, faith relations, is depressing for him.”
