Strictly Come Dancing’s show last night was better than ever! I know the judges have faced a bit of heat, but I’m loving their banter at the moment. It’s more than it’s ever been, and it really works.

My three favourites at the moment are Lewis Cope, I thought his Foxtrot was lovely, and I really loved Balvinder Sopal’s Paso Doble. I thought Alex Kingston’s technique was amazing, I really do think she is one to watch. Her dance really got to Shirley, and I have to be honest, her dance also left me a bit speechless. Having learnt it myself, I know how hard it is to get all the movements through your feet. You wouldn’t expect something as advanced as that until later in the show, so she really deserved her mark 36.

I felt so sorry for La Voix, I think she had a really tough dance and an off night, and the Cha Cha is very tricky. You work so hard all week, and then it all comes down to 90 seconds on the dance floor, and it just didn’t seem to work out. I know Shirley has had some backlash over her comments to La Voix, but I don’t think she really thought about what she was saying, and maybe didn’t word it properly. Even the judges get nervous, and she was probably thinking “I can’t give a zero”, and the truth is they can’t be kind to everyone. They’re not doing their jobs properly if they are. They need to give criticism and judge and be honest, or it is a disservice to the stars. I think La Voix and Aljaz can bounce back from this though.

I was disappointed when I found out who is going tonight, I thought they had made so much improvement, and they were very likeable to the audience, and I thought their dance on Saturday was actually very good. I think there was probably a lack of technique that the other celebrities have more of, but it still seems a shame. I was quite surprised at the bottom two choices in general, but sometimes the show can be a little unpredictable. I had guessed one star, but the other I wouldn’t have said at all. I just hope their confidence doesn’t get knocked.

Stefan made a very good comeback after being off sick last week. Normally you can return feeling quite weak, and a Charleston is tricky to do too as it is so high energy. But he did brilliantly. I think it must be frustrating for Dianne and Stefan to be working so hard and for everyone to be talking about her pregnancy. I know people are invested, but they’re not doctors, and I can see why she is hitting back at people’s comments online.

She isn’t going to do anything against the doctor’s orders, and when you’re a dancer, you’re so aware of what’s going on in your body. I think if she were feeling a niggle, she wouldn’t take any chances, and they’ll have someone on standby. But I’m sure she’s not taking any risks, and she isn’t the first professional dancer in the world to have a child while still performing. I think she’ll be a pro at this anyway, but it’s best to just ignore what people are saying and focus on the job in front of you. She knows that being on Strictly, everyone is talking about you so she just needs to brush it off.

George and Alexis’s tango was very interesting, and I thought it was good that it got the judges talking, as I said I am loving the back and forth between them this series. Everyone has differing opinions, and it is all done in a very light-hearted way. I think they all know George is one to watch, too. I think he and Alexis make an incredibly good pairing, and her choreography is excellent, so watch this space.

Amber Davies and Nikita’s Argentine Tango was interesting, technically great, but I just didn’t feel a connection between them. I completely agree with Craig’s comments, I thought she was sensational but it was just missing something, it just wasn’t earthy enough for me. I couldn’t comparing to Ellie and Vito who were on next, and she did a brilliant job, and the friendship between her and Vito is so lovely. She is improving so much and I have been so impressed with her.

I would really like to make a plea to the Strictly bosses to reveal the voting ratio every week, I think it would be so interesting. I know they’ll never do it, but it could really shake up the outcome of the show. I just don’t know which way this series is going to go, I’m struggling to pick a top four to definitely make the final. I really couldn’t place a bet on it so will have to tune in next week!
