There’s a shake-up coming to Beat the Chasers — and it’s one fans won’t want to miss. ITV has confirmed that a brand-new mystery Chaser, known only as Maverick, will make their debut during the series finale on 19 October. Producers are keeping the identity of the newcomer tightly under wraps, teasing that Maverick will join five of the regular quiz masters, with one familiar face missing from the line-up.
A teaser hints: “Who is behind the mask, and can they live up to being a part of the greatest quiz team in the world?” The primetime spin-off, fronted by Bradley Walsh, sees contestants go head-to-head against all six Chasers — Mark “The Beast” Labbett, Shaun “The Dark Destroyer” Wallace , Anne “The Governess” Hegerty , Paul “The Sinnerman” Sinha, Jenny “The Vixen” Ryan, and Darragh “The Menace” Ennis — in a high-stakes race against the clock for huge sums of cash.

In the opening round, players must survive a tense multiple-choice Cash Builder to earn their spot against the quiz giants.
A perfect score earns them a “super offer” — the chance to take on all six Chasers for an eye-watering £600,000. One wrong move, however, and it’s game over.
With the Beat the Chasers finale promising to unmask Maverick and introduce a bold new twist, ITV is already lining up the next instalment of its quiz empire.
The annual Chase Christmas Special is also returning later this year, though insiders say viewers will get just one festive episode instead of the usual two.
The special will see four celebrities take on the Chasers — who traditionally appear in fancy dress — all to win money for charity.
Bradley will return as host alongside the full line-up, but ITV is yet to reveal which stars will face them in the festive showdown.

And that’s not all for fans of the franchise. The Chase Around the World, a globe-trotting spin-off from producers Potato, has reportedly been green-lit for a full series after a successful pilot.
The upcoming reality competition will feature pairs of contestants solving clues and answering questions across international locations for the chance to win big money.
The format will combine travel, teamwork and trivia, with contestants racing across continents to crack clues and outsmart rivals in real-time challenges filmed against some of the world’s most iconic landmarks.
Production is set to begin early next year, though ITV has yet to confirm whether long-standing show host Bradley Walsh or any of the coveted Chasers will appear on the new spin-off.
The exciting spin-off comes off the back of The Chase’s phenomenal success, with the Bradley Walsh-fronted show regularly pulling in over 3 million viewers a day and its primetime edition smashing ratings to become one of ITV’s most-watched quiz formats.
