A man who “exposed himself” live on TV left presenter Lee Mack gobsmacked as he scrambled to discern whether it was a joke.
The baffling incident unfolded during an episode of The 1% Club, which has graced ITV screens since April 2022.
A recent instalment had viewers in fits of laughter when a contestant found himself in trouble.
Upon being quizzed about his plans for the prize money, the individual declared intentions to spoil themselves and their nearest and dearest.
However, the number of ‘loved ones’ mentioned caught Mack off guard, prompting the contestant to request a chance to rephrase his response.

Footage from the quiz show has since become an internet sensation, with the public astonished that the man had blundered so publicly. A social media post exclaimed: “He fully exposed himself on national TV.”
Lee Mack probes: “What are you going to do with the £1,000?” To which the contestant confesses: “I’ve got two girlfriends, take them both out to restaurants. But separate dates.”
Mack’s astounded reaction was a sight to behold, and the audience shared in the shock at such a candid revelation. Mack quipped: “Now I’m trying to figure out whether you’re joking or not. This is definitely going on TV.”
The contestant then slyly suggested: “Just edit it to say my girlfriend.” Playing along, Mack advised: “Just play it safe, you never know. Just say one this time.”
When the moment came to repeat the question, Mack couldn’t resist dropping the contestant in hot water with a witty retort.
When Abdul, a contestant, mentioned, “I’m taking my sweetheart out to dinner,” Mack quipped: “Ah, what about the other one?” A viewer who caught the moment commented: “He came across as a bit of a t**t. Hope they both dumped him.”
Another simply exclaimed: “Mad.” A third joked: “The 2% Club.”
Some spectators even doubted the contestant’s claims, suggesting he didn’t have a partner at all. One person remarked: “It’s insane how you can immediately tell someone has never had a girlfriend before.”
‘The 1% Club’ has recently been announced as a contender for Best Quiz Show at the National Television Awards, with public voting now open.
Also in the running are ‘The Chase’, ‘Richard Osman’s House of Games’, and ‘Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel’.
While supporters of the show have pledged their votes for the Mack-led quiz, they’ve also delivered a pointed message to the host. The ‘Not Going Out’ star, who has been at the helm since the beginning, received a blunt plea from an irate fan.
The note stated: “You will get my vote, but, please have a word with Mack too stop talking rubbish when we are trying to get the answer.”
