Rylan Clark has made an impassioned plea about immigration as he said ‘migrants saved my mum’s life.’ The This Morning presenter was recently at his mother Linda’s bedside in hospital after she fell ill.
Speaking on the ITV show today, he said: “This country is built on immigration. Legal immigration — a lot of the nurses, the doctors that have saved my mum’s life have come over here from other countries. They’re living a great life, they’re paying into this tax system, they’re helping this country thrive.”
He went on: “I find it absolutely insane that all these people are risking their lives coming across the Channel. And when they get here, it does seem, and I think this is why a lot of Labour voters as well are saying there’s something wrong, it feels like, ‘Welcome, come on in’. That’s the narrative we’re being fed,” he added. “Here’s the iPad. Here’s the NHS in reception of your hotel. Here’s three meals a day. Here’s a games room in the hotel. Have a lovely time and welcome.”

He explained that everyone would have an opinion about this and he was “going to upset someone” with his views. He explained: “There are people that have lived here all their lives that are struggling. They’re homeless. Let’s not even discuss our homeless. There are people living on the streets, veterans, all of this.
“Let me be honest, everyone’s going to have an opinion about this and you’re going to upset someone. Something major needs to be done about this. The money that it’s costing us, the amount of people that are in this country that we have no idea who they are, what they’ve done, what they’re capable of – and clearly we see a lot of it in the press at the moment. Not all, but some, what some are doing to people in this country.”

He added: “How can it be that if I turn up at Heathrow Airport as a British citizen and I’ve left my passport in Spain, I’ve got to stand at that airport and won’t be let in. But if I arrive on a boat from Calais, I get taken to a four-star hotel? If I went to Spain, without one, I wouldn’t be let in. So how come if you turn up on a small boat you are.”
Just a few weeks ago, Rylan had to cancel his work commitments when his mum fell ill. Taking to social media at the time, he said: “Mummy Linda isn’t well sadly so I won’t be hosting the show tomorrow.
“Thank you to the emergency team at Princess Alexandra Hospital. Especially Tanya who really looked after my mum. Will keep you updated as she’s on the mend. She’s a trooper.” He later updated fans to say she was recovering well.

A married couple who claim swinging has spiced up their sex life have set up a risqué club – but have put a ban on unattractive people joining.
Tanya Marum and Ashley Marum, both 32, tied the knot in 2019 and began swinging just a few months later to allow Tanya to explore her bisexuality. Initially, they started “playing” with other women at swingers clubs but soon moved onto couples after realising it was predominantly a couple-based scene.
The pair featured on Channel 4’s Open House: The Great Sex Experiment, where Ashley famously chatted about pizza toppings with a glamorous woman while Tanya frolicked with a party guest. Ashley claims that swinging has bolstered their trust in each other and they have one golden rule – never engage with another couple alone to avoid becoming a “play thing”.

Beauty salon owner Tanya reveals their friends are supportive of their lifestyle, with some of window cleaner Ashley’s pals even confessing they’re “jealous” and wish their girlfriends were open to participating. After finding it difficult to regularly meet people they found attractive, they launched their own events company where applicants are vetted online for attractiveness.
Tanya, who hosts a podcast called Pineapple Lounge, aims to educate people about the “unwritten rulebook” of swinging and help them make informed decisions.

While the duo recommend the swinger lifestyle to others, they caution couples against using it as a solution to “cracks” in their relationship.
Tanya, from Leeds, Yorkshire, shared: “I think it’s strengthened our relationship emotionally and sexually. We can talk to each other so freely and we’re so open about our own bodies as well. It’s just improved everything.
“It wasn’t something I ever actually thought about at all. We were on a night out and a friend asked if we wanted a threesome and I said no because she was a friend but it sparked a discussion and it spiralled from there.

“The original attraction was to explore being bisexual and look for women originally. Ash said ‘if it’s something you want to explore we can explore together and see’.
“We played with girls for a long time but eventually started playing with couples because it’s a predominantly couple-based scene. It’s just such an accepting community of people. It’s fun and it’s not all just about sex that people imagine.
“We’ve made some really good friends through the lifestyle and it’s brought me and Ash closer together. Some couples say they can talk about anything but I don’t believe they can.
“There’s always something you don’t really want to say to your partner but I can ask Ash anything. Obviously jealousy is a natural feeling but it’s how you go about it and how you act on those feelings.
“The trust and the love and the foundation is already there for us so we don’t get jealous in a bad way.”
Now, Ashley claims their trust has grown stronger than ever thanks to their candid conversations about their swinging lifestyle.
Ashley explained: “Our trust has increased by swinging. Every couple we know that does it feels exactly the same.

“There’s 100 percent trust and you understand what each other likes more than anything and you want each other to be as happy as possible. You don’t get that very often in a normal relationship.
“I’m honest and open with everything so if something’s not right I say it straight away. Tanya is exactly the same so because we’re honest with each other all the time it’s made it so much easier.
“We only go out together and if we ever do anything separately, which is very rare, our one and only rule is we wouldn’t play with a couple on our own. We don’t want to be someone’s play thing – that’s how people treat a single.
“We want to do our own thing and have our own experience and our own fun.”
