When Today Third Hour aired on Tuesday, only Dylan Dreyer, Sheinelle Jones, and Craig Melvin were at the desk.
Al, 69, typically joins them, but was absent.
“Good morning everyone. Welcome to the Third Hour of Today,” Dylan, 42, opened the show.
“Al is going to be back tomorrow. I promise you guys.”
“Maybe. Supposedly,” Sheinelle, 45, chimed in.
Craig, 44, stayed silent as the hosts moved on and discussed the topics of the day.
Al has not been on the morning show since March 1.
Dylan had been reporting the weather during his absence and they have had fill-in hosts for the past week.
On Monday, Sheinelle joked that he is “living his best life” and is “on sabbatical.”
FATHER SON TIME
Al spent time with his son, Nick, 21, over the weekend, as the college student was on spring break.

Al shared photos to Instagram on Monday of him and Nick on the beach.
They walked along the water, sat in chairs with big hats on, and posed with friends.
After Al shared their adventures, he posted a video of himself cooking burgers.
“Before I took Nick back to college after #springbreak he requested my #smashburger,” he wrote.
Al shared a video of him cooking the meat and then the finished product, which included cheese, onions, lettuce, and a bun.
WORK TRIP
Al has also been absent from Today Third Hour, due to a work-related trip.
He attended the Aspen Ideas: Climate Festival on Monday.
The conference took place in Miami, Florida, from March 11 to 13.
Aspen Ideas: Climate is a multi-day event that addresses the changing climate.
Al got to meet Bill Nye the Science Guy and the mayor of Cleveland, Ohio, talk on stage, and visit Telemundo Studios.
