During a segment, NBC star Al came to discuss the new generation, Generation Beta, along his co-panelists, Craig Melvin and Savannah Sellers. Generation Beta is the title that has been given to babies that will be born between 2025 and 2039.

Pondering about which generation they themselves belong to, Al turned to Craig and asked: “So what are you ? Are you a Millennial?” to which Craig replied: “No! I’m Gen X.”

Curious about his colleague’s generation too, Craig went on to ask Al: “What are you?” The media personality instantly replied: “Uh, old,” leaving his co-hosts in uncontrollable laughter.

The comical moment ignited widespread amusement on social media, as an Instagram user commented: “Al is always so funny and he is just a legend!!!” A person wrote: “Al is the BEST.”

Someone else penned: “I understand I am old too.” A netizen added: “Al is so quick and funny!”

“This was a cute segment,” a viewer shared. A separate individual chimed in: “Only 1 gen difference Al! (Boomer and GenX) You’re not that old!”

Craig was born on May 20, 1979 and is 49 years old. He therefore falls under the Generation X category, missing being a Millennial by just a year. As for Al, who was born on August 20, 1954, he fits under the Baby boomers generation.
