Amanda Owen shares a picture of her rarely seen son Sidney Owen
Stood side by side with her son Sidney Owen, Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen looked the picture of health. But it wasn’t her appearance that caused a stir on social media – it was the fact her son looked identical to his famous mother.
In a rarely seen picture of her son, better known as Sid, the pair appeared closer than ever as he towered over his mum. 50. And fans could not believe their likeness. This came on the back of the duo reclaiming an old broken down tractor , which was entrenched in mud.
But ever the optimist, Amanda, who is a mum of nine, was certain that they would be able to revive the down-trodden vehicle. On seeing the picture, fans rushed to social media to express their thoughts.

One person said: “You’re an inspiration to women and young girls.” Meanwhile, a second added: “Well done Sid, you’re growing up so quickly @yorkshireshepherdess, beautiful picture of you and Sid together.”
And a third stated how Sid was ” looking so grown up.” Taking after his parents, Sid is also training his very own sheepdog and looks after the well-being of his flock of sheep.
And while Sid entertains the prospect of becoming a farmer, it seems his elder brother Reuben has already immersed himself in the industry.
While speaking on a recent podcast The Farmer’s Guardian, he revealed his plans to run his own farm one day. He explained: “My ultimate goal, once I have enough diggers going, is to have my own farm around here.
“I definitely want to carry on farming, and I appreciate it more since I have not been around the farm as much.” He added: “It is lovely; it is the place I want to be.”
But it wasn’t so long ago, the family found themselves in turmoil. Back in November last year, Amanda undertook a renovation project of a building near to the farm where she lived in Ravenseat, Swaledale.
At the time she revealed she was uncertain as to who would live with her as she progressed with the work. She told BBC Radio York: “I think this project is the very solid foundations for something for the children.
“Don’t ask me who’s going to move in, I’ve no idea. But I have plenty of people who are vying to move in.”
She added: “It’s all about looking to the future, the children and making it that they have the ability to stay around here and to be able to find work around here.”
She continued to add: “When you live in a tenanted place, like Ravenseat, it is home and I love the place, but in the middle of the night when you’re having a bit of a stress and a worry of course you think to yourself ‘but actually, it’s not mine’. So it’s about security.”
