Could Kelvin Fletcher’s character Andy Sugden be returning to Emmerdale?
So could a comeback be on the cards? There is definitely a possibility now that Lachlan has been imprisoned for shooting his grandfather, which was what Andy had been framed for.
But what has boss Ian MacLeod said?
He told The Mirror: “There are no plans to do that at the moment, but I’d have to be an idiot not to have it in the back of my mind, as Andy Sugden is such a huge character and Kelvin’s an amazing actor.”

Ian added that he definitely “wouldn’t rule it out”.
Fans were left in tears after Kelvin’s character Andy left the Dales for good in August.
Speaking about his decision on This Morning, the actor said: “Twenty years is a long time. It’s been incredible twenty years. I am so grateful to Emmerdale. Throughout that period I have always had a real sense of fulfilment and purpose.
“What started out as a hobby at six years old – I was then able to do something like that every day on a professional platform on one of the country’s greatest shows. I have been extremely lucky.
“Looking back over 20 years it has been a rollercoaster and for me it’s give me passion to leave and continue.”
When asked whether he would return to the show, Kelvin said: “You never know with a long running show. That is for them to decide.”
Fingers crossed!
