GENERAL Hospital is bringing back a fan-favorite character and announcing two new cast members.

The announcement comes after the long-running soap opera’s viewership has slumped.

The soap announced via its Instagram page that Bryan Craig would be returning to the role of Morgan Corinthos in an episode on Tuesday.

Fans’ feelings about Bryan’s pending return were mixed.

“I am so disappointed that Morgan is just gonna be a ghost again,” one disgruntled fan wrote.

“I can’t believe they’re doing this. They made it seem like he was coming back. They should’ve just wrote ‘Morgan makes an appearance.'”

“Oh yeah, Morgan’s ghost is coming today,” a second excited user said.

“Ava’s lies are about to blow up in her face! Today is the day he finds out his meds aren’t working!”

One fan was completely confused about the actor’s return.

“Why is everyone saying Morgan is coming back ?? How do you know this have I missed something,” they wrote.

The actor’s return comes as General Hospital has seen a three percent drop in ratings since the beginning of the season, reports TV Finale.

Bryan first dropped hints of his return to General Hospital in June 2024 after posting a series of Instagram photos of him on the show’s set.

“Me and my friend, the camera,” wrote Bryan in the caption.

Bryan joined the series as Morgan in 2013 and portrayed the character for three years before he was written off in a car bomb explosion.

The actor later came back in 2018 for a brief time but has not been on the show since.

“It’s a really nice compliment,” Bryan told TVLine.

“I’m very grateful because I love working with Maurice, and I love what we did towards the end of that run,” Bryan continued.

“It was so fun to be asked back and to be able to come back to further that storyline a little bit years later. I feel very privileged.”

In addition to Bryan’s return, General Hospital has also brought on several new cast members.

Veteran soap actor Rick Hearst, who previously starred in the show made his shocking return.

Hearst’s character left the show in 2016.

Emma Samms, who last appeared on the ABC drama in 2023, is also slated to make a reappearance.

Other fresh faces include Jordan Murphy, as U.S. Attorney Wilcox, and Gita Reddy, who will play the role of Judge Sullivan.

Many fans of the show have expressed their annoyance at the casting with some calling the decision “unnecessary.”

General Hospital airs on ABC on weekdays at 2 pm Eastern and the next day on Hulu.
