Jenna Bush Hager was promoted from The Today Show correspondent to co-host of the third hour with Hoda Kotb in 2019. She took over after Kathie Lee Gifford left the show. Now Jenna is the solo host after Hoda stepped down earlier this year to spend time with her kids.

The show is still searching for the perfect person to replace Hoda, but they might be looking for two co-hosts. Jenna Bush Hager shared her future plans once her time on the show is done. Is she leaving?

The Today Show Suffers Multiple Exits

Jenna Bush Hager leaving The Today Show would be a major hit to the daytime talk show. She seamlessly took over as co-host from the immensely popular Kathie Lee Gifford. While the vibe between Hoda Kotb and Jenna was different from Hoda’s vibe with Kathie Lee, viewers accepted Jenna immediately.

Hoda’s departure left a huge hole that the network is still trying to fill. The show, now called Jenna & Friends, brings in celebrity guests to basically audition for the co-hosting gig.

The third hour of The Today Show will lose another co-host later this year. Jacob Soboroff, who fills in as co-host on the talk show sometimes, is leaving for MSNBC due to Comcast splitting MSNBC and NBC News into separate companies.

The split between MSNBC and NBC News is just the latest network shakeup happening to your favorite TV channels. Several daytime talk show hosts are considering retiring or leaving for other opportunities, including Live With Kelly and Mark co-host Kelly Ripa.

Jenna Bush Hager and guest co-host Matt Rogers recently discussed their love of their hometowns. Jenna Bush Hager grew up in Austin, Texas, with her twin sister and parents, former President George W. Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush.

The Today host said that she has a dream of someday moving back to Texas to raise her family. She shares three children with her husband, Henry Hager: Mila, 12, Poppy, 9, and son Hal, 6.

Jenna Hager Bush said that she thought everyone’s lives have chapters. “When I’m ready to go to my next chapter, I think it would be so nice to move back to Texas and let my kids — I went to a big public high school — have a different life,” she added.

She Still Has Roots In Texas

According to multiple reports, Jenna Bush Hager and her husband own homes in Long Island and Connecticut. They previously owned an apartment in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City. They reportedly sold it in 2022 to move to Connecticut.

Despite living on the other side of the country, Jenna Bush Hager still feels like Texas is home. She revealed in July that she sends her kids to summer camp in Texas. The flash flood over the July Fourth weekend that took the lives of 27 young campers and their counselors hit close to home for the Today host.

Jenna Bush Hager’s plan to move back to Texas is just a dream for now. Where do you plan to take your next chapter?
