Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson have been out of contract with Fox Sports since the end of the 2024 NFL season, with the duo’s futures at the network still undecided

FOX Sports reporters Charissa Thompson and Erin Andrews, renowned figures in the world of sports broadcasting, are currently out of contract following the lapse of their agreements this month. The famed pair had been signed on until the end of the 2024 NFL season, with Super Bowl LIX marking the conclusion of their time at FOX Sports.

Whether they will be re-hired remains a topic of speculation, sparking conversations among fans eager to learn what’s next for them.

Thompson and Andrews have been co-hosting the ‘Calm Down’ podcast since 2021, and while they occasionally share career updates, they’ve been tight-lipped about their current contract situations. As the community waits in anticipation, Mirror U.S. Sports is providing a comprehensive guide on everything to know about Thompson’s and Andrew’s positions, including all the information that has come to light and potential future endeavors.

What’s next?

Looking ahead, it’s still uncertain whether Fox plans to bring back Andrews and Thompson for the upcoming 2025 NFL season, but the duo isn’t short on projects. Notably, they continue to host their hit ‘Calm Down with Erin and Charissa’ podcast.

Thompson, for her part, maintains a commitment with Amazon Prime Video thanks to a deal inked in 2022 that places her at the helm of their Thursday Night Football pregame, halftime, and postgame shows.

Andrews, meanwhile, recently showed up at ‘Skate for LA Strong’ on February 23, an event supporting the L.A. Fire Relief Fund hosted by the NHL’s LA Kings at Crypto.com Arena.

Come March 7, both will also be headlining the first-ever She is Football Women’s Summit, which unfolds in the Stadium Club at Raymond James Stadium, courtesy of the Tampa Bay Rowdies. This summit promises a series of enlightening conversations with some of America’s most influential female figures.

Beyond the world of sports reporting, Andrews is the mastermind behind her very own women’s apparel line, WEAR by Erin Andrews, which has blossomed into one of the leading women-owned NFL clothing companies out there since its launch. In a similar entrepreneurial spirit, Thompson also helms her own venture, House and Home, an all-in, full-scale interior design outfit.

What have Andrews and Thompson said?

Speaking of their professional insights, on her podcast ‘Calm Down,’ Andrews spoke candidly about her career perspective: “I think my goal is always kind of the same as last year. Enjoy it, because it’s not going to last forever, especially when your contract is up – and mine is.”

Not long ago, Andrews seemed to all but confirm her departure from Fox with a tearful comment on an Instagram post by Fox broadcaster Peter Schrager, which showcased photos of the network’s team at Super Bowl LIX. Her message, “Omg I’m crying,” sparked speculation about her leaving for good.

Meanwhile, Thompson stirred the pot with remarks on the ‘Calm Down’ podcast about her contract and her affection for her Fox family. “I just have to say one thing, and this is also what I am going on and on about Fox, and I swear. I mean, it’s not just because my contract’s up,” she said.

“I love Fox so much because my brother and my dad came to the Super Bowl, and Fox’s family to me, so my own family like sharing in those moments,” she continued. “It was so fun, and Fox just makes them feel so welcome and makes sure they’re included in the events and everything. So I just would be remiss if I didn’t mention how wonderful my extended work family is to my own family.”

The podcast also captured a poignant moment between Thompson and Andrews as they reflected on the NFL season, with Thompson expressing how working with Andrews at Super Bowl LIX was a highlight, moving Andrews to tears as she acknowledged the significance of the event.
