EastEnders viewers are fearing there is a d.e.a.dly twist on the cards for two characters, after news of a viewer vote was confirmed by the BBC soap ahead of the 40th anniversary
There could be a tragic and unexpected EastEnders twist on the way, fans are fearing.
A new theory about the looming viewer vote could see a character lose their life in a twist of fate. Amid a love triangle involving Ravi Gulati, Denise Fox and Jack Branning, fans learned they had an important part to play.
As part of the 40th anniversary episodes, Denise will finally choose between new flame Ravi and ex-husband Jack. But the decision will actually be made by us, the viewer, in a vote.
In an interactive twist, fans will have the chance to decide who Denise ends up with and the outcome will be announced during the BBC soap’s live episode during the birthday week. More details about the vote and how fans will decide will be confirmed by the show in due course.
Now, fans are speculating there is more to the twist given there’s the 40th looming. Amid a big stunt looming and fears of a shocking d.e.a.th, fans are wondering whether their vote could lead to more than they have been told.

A new theory has questioned whether we are actually voting to save a life. Could Denise be forced to save one of the men, with one of them set to perish?
Might our vote seal the fate of a character, meaning Denise will save the person we choose and the other person cannot be rescued? It’s quite a theory, but it’s also soap land and we’d put nothing past EastEnders.
The theory read: “What if everyone is missing the point and BOTH are involved in some kind of life threatening trouble alongside Denise and she can only save one?” This could mean the unlucky man not chosen could be k.i.ll.ed off over the anniversary week next month.
Soap boss Chris Clenshaw recently teased the big vote, and getting viewers involved in a new storyline. It would seem from his comments that fans have nothing to worry about where a d.e.a.th is concerned and that this theory is not the case after all.
He said: “We’re all so excited to give our audience their first ever chance to decide how one of our big storylines plays out. Their votes will determine whether Denise picks Jack or Ravi, with the outcome being revealed as part of our live episode.
“There is a lot to come over the next few weeks for all three involved, so it’ll be extremely exciting to see which way the audience choose to take the story!”
