Ryan Seacrest has been surprised by Wheel of Fortune contestants who impressively solve puzzles at a rapid pace, but only one has managed to get him to open up with personal stories about his life.

The show’s presenter has been a public figure for over two decades, since rocketing to fame as the host of American Idol. His career highlights have also included a radio show, hosting the Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve special and a stint as Kelly Ripa’s co-host on Live! Despite his fame, he has kept some of his personal life close to his chest, though.

While the veteran host has admitted to things like sneaking out of a co-host’s wedding, he doesn’t always share other stuff about his life–but managed to spill a little more about his past after a Wheel contestant convinced him to open up.

The moment occurred on a March episode of the show, as a woman named Jill McDaniel played for a chance to win cash and prizes.

In addition to winning serious cash on the show, she won the designation as the contestant who got Seacrest to spill personal details.

Before regular game play, McDaniel succeeded in getting Seacrest to admit his biggest fear was “relationships.” She then went on to play an impressive game.

Ahead of the bonus round, she racked up an impressive $23,749 in cash and prizes, including a trip to the Canadian Rockies valued at $7,999. She was the big winner of the night, advancing to the Bonus Round, where she chose the category “Phrase” for her puzzle.

At the wheel to spin for her prize, McDaniel then introduced Seacrest to her friends who were present at the taping, admitting they had had a dinner discussion the night prior that involved a series of questions.

Among them were “How would your mom describe you?” and “How would your last boyfriend describe you?”

Seacrest then chimed in with his own answers to the questions.

“Well, I can’t answer that one, but my mom would say very tall and strapping,” he said.

McDaniel then went on to impress Seacrest with her puzzle-solving skills, after her board read A _A_ _ _ MED _ _M, after the given letters of R, S, T, L, N, E, and her chosen ones of M, C, D and A.

After correctly guessing “A Happy Medium,” she won an additional $40,000–taking her total winnings to $63,749 for the night.
