BREAKING: BBC ANNOUNCES Countryfile 2025 Results and it makes VIEWERS ANGRY
Countryfile viewers expressed their frustrations after being left disappointed with the results of a major competition. Those entering the 2025 Countryfile Photographic Competition had to follow the theme of ‘Wild Encounters’, showcasing their best images of natural landscapes or the creatures that live within it. The best 12 photographs entered will make up the Countryfile Calendar for 2026, which featured in Sunday (August 31) night’s instalment of the BBC programme.
John Craven, Hamza Yassin and Maggie Aderin-Pocock gathered to judge the images that were entered, including everything from wildlife to picturesque landscapes. The final 12 featured images depicting ‘A Mouse on a Mission’, ‘A Fawn’s Dawn’ and ‘A Slug’s Life.'” The public have now been given the power to vote for their favourite image. The winner of the competition will feature on the cover of the 2026 Countryfile Calendar.

However, fans flooded the programme with complaints as they felt “underwhelmed” by the winning snaps.
Taking to social media, one wrote: “Why is it every year there’s always a picture of a mouse in the final twelve, even if it’s underwhelming.”
Another said: “After seeing so many amazing entries for the #Countryfile calendar competition, I found myself somewhat disappointed with the final 12.”
Responding to the post on X, a third echoed: “My thoughts exactly. Not many of those would pass the ‘do you want to look at it for a whole month’ rule.”
A fourth weighed in: “Anyone else slightly underwhelmed by this years photos?”
The complaints come after former Countryfile presenter Ben Fogle revealed things went wrong while he was shooting the newest series of New Lives In The Wild.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain with presenters Richard Madeley, 69, and Kate Garraway, 58, Ben admitted to being rushed to hospital during production, though he refrained from elaborating on what prompted the urgent medical visit.
Discussing the forthcoming series he recently completed filming, the 51-year-old remarked: “A lot of the people I’ve met … I’m already filming a new series, I’ve just filmed one in Montana. Extraordinary. Really complicated story. I ended up in hospital – but that’s a whole other thing.”
As the programme’s name implies, the show follows Ben as he visits individuals who have abandoned both modern life’s pressures and comforts to pursue a more basic off-grid existence in remote locations.
