Brooklyn Beckham celebrates his 27th birthday today – and despite a very public family rift, David Beckham has posted a birthday tribute to his son on Instagram. The special day comes just weeks after he publicly criticised his parents David and Victoria Beckham in a bombshell statement confirming their falling out.

His allegations included claims of years of control and pressure, as well as disrespect towards his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham. Since then, Brooklyn has seemingly attempted to demonstrate his independence from his family, posting affectionate photographs with his wife and content about his developing culinary career.

Having been labelled what is often referred to as “a nepo baby” throughout his life, Brooklyn has consistently encountered criticism regarding his career endeavours. However, following the highly publicised family dispute, a PR expert suggests interest in his personal life and future decisions has reached unprecedented levels – though warns he must select his next move wisely.

Similar to Prince Harry, Kayley Cornelius, a Celebrity PR Specialist at PressBox PR believes a revealing memoir with a substantial payment would probably already have been proposed to the eldest Beckham offspring. The Prince himself released his bestselling book, Spare, in which he detailed his perspective on life within the Royal Family after stepping away in 2020.

Sharing her thoughts on Brooklyn’s potential next steps, Kayley told us: “It’s highly likely that he has already been offered a six-figure advance to pen a memoir addressing the feud, particularly given how quickly publishers move when a family dispute is dominating headlines.”

“On paper, it would be positioned as a guaranteed bestseller, with comparisons inevitably drawn to Prince Harry and the commercial success of his own tell-all.”

However, unlike Harry, the PR specialist believes it may not achieve the same level of success. “While there is strong public curiosity around the Beckham family dynamic, much of that interest thrives on social media snippets, viral clips and easily digestible gossip, so translating that into hard book sales is another matter entirely,” she explained.

“A memoir immediately places a paywall in front of the content, and I am not convinced Brooklyn currently has the individual brand strength or loyal standalone fanbase willing to part with their money in significant numbers.”

Because of this, Kayley suggested there is “a real risk” that instead of a tell-all book being a career-defining moment, “it becomes another project added to the list of failed ventures, and ultimately a huge flop”.

If he wishes to reveal more about his perspective, Kayley believes Brooklyn would be better served by opting for a “carefully managed” interview on a digital platform instead. “That said, even that approach carries risk, and continuing to publicly dissect the situation may start to hinder future opportunities rather than help them,” she added.

“We have already seen how public perception shifted for Prince Harry once family grievances became monetised, and years later he is still navigating the consequences of that decision, so Brooklyn could very easily find himself on a similar path if he chooses to go down that route.”

While a six-figure payment might seem attractive, Kayley suggested his wisest move reputationally would be to remain silent and concentrate on establishing his credibility.

She concluded: “His passion for cooking is clear, and if he continues to create consistent food content, expand his condiments range or work towards opening his own restaurant, he stands a far better chance of earning long-term respect. Audiences are far more receptive to tangible skill-building and entrepreneurial focus than they are to prolonged family drama. Right now, longevity will come from substance, not headlines.”
