Working from home definitely has its perks, but for this GB News host, it proved to be quite disruptive when his pet cat interrupted a live broadcast. GB News presenter Martin Daubney was rudely interrupted by ‘meow’ sounds while in a discussion about migration with Home and Security Editor Mark White live on air. A rather embarrassed White was asked if there was ‘meowing’ in the background or if it was him.
Daubney joked: “I feel like I might start meowing myself. I feel like I’m losing my mind. That’s where we’re at.” To which Mark quick-wittedly replied that it was “the Home and Security cat”.
The pair were mid-conversation about the government “needing to get on top of” migration in the UK, explaining that it will take time but it “will make a difference”. It was then that the cat sounded, almost as if in agreement with the two hosts.
After quite a serious conversation, viewers watched on as the two journalists erupted into laughter. Daudney continued to poke fun by saying: “They will have more common sense. Mark, if I were you, I’d get that moggy in the first taxi to Downing Street; they might have more chance of solving this than all the ministers in the world.”

“Mark’s cat has more common sense than our government!” one user commented on a GB News Instagram post sharing the candid moment. Another person shared: “Love this news channel even more for this!”
A viewer said: “Between Mark’s Moggy and Larry at number 10, at the helm… There’s hope for us all.” Someone else chimed in to say: “Get the cat to protect the border.”
Others were quick to point out that the cat was not in fact a moggy breed but a Bengal cat. It’s this tender moment between the news anchors that made viewers fall further in love with White, as they recall another stripped-back moment on air from the host.
This clip follows the touching moment that White was seen crying on air back in January as he reported live on the sentencing of Axel Rudakubana. As he read the victim statement from the dance teacher who was hosting the dance class in which three young girls were brutally killed, he couldn’t help but shed a few tears.
A fan of the host commented: “Love you Mark! When you cried live on air over the Southport trial, I knew you were a good man.”
One other follower took to Instagram to say: “Love Mark White! When he cried live on air over those 3 little girls in Stockport, and he’s a cat lover!
