Good Morning Britain hosts Ed Balls and Susanna Reid were discussing the upcoming Euro match between England and the Netherlands when they cheekily mocked Charlotte Hawkins’ news bulletin

Good Morning Britain’s Ed Balls was called out by his co-star Charlotte Hawkins during Wednesday’s instalment of the ITV show.
It comes after the trio were discussing the upcoming match between England and the Netherlands in the Euro semi-finals.
As Charlotte’s news bulletin came to a close, she said: “In case you were wondering how the football is going to go tonight, I have the answer.
“A group of mystic meerkats have predicted victory for England over the Netherlands.” Showing viewers a clip, Charlotte highlighted meerkats in an East Sussex zoo had the choice between two buckets of nuts.
One of them featuring the England flag and the other of the Netherlands, the animals flocked to the one representing England. However, it seemed as though Susanna and Ed weren’t blown away by the unusual prediction.
She added: “In case you’re sceptical about this, Susanna I can see that look on your face. So far, the predictive pack have correctly picked all of England’s results.
“So, I am sticking with the meerkats. It’s going to be a win for England.” As a brief silence hit, Susanna questioned how they could be sure there were even nuts in the bucket representing the Netherlands.
While Charlotte told the GMB star not to doubt the meerkats, she also highlighted another creature which predicted football results, Paul the octopus.

Susanna wasn’t entirely convinced
Susanna replied: “Mystic animals should not be in news bulletins Charlotte Hawkins!” Both of them laughed at her comments while Ed commented: “Clutching at straws.”
Doing an exaggerated gasp, Charlotte hit back: “Ooh harsh!” As Susanna cut in saying if the meerkats were correct then we should take it and support the team. She added: “I don’t mean to rain on the meerkat’s parade.”
Good Morning Britain’s official X shared the clip of the animals online with Charlotte retweeting the post, standing by her comments to Ed and Susanna. She wrote: “I’m standing by the meerkats – a win for England tonight!”
England will take on the Netherlands this evening at 8pm on ITV following their win against Switzerland on Saturday. The team that wins the match will go up against Spain in Sunday’s final.
