A morning news anchor has presented the headlines of the day, all whilst being in active labor.
New York news anchor Olivia Jaquith, who appears on CBS 6 Albany alongside co-host Julia Dunn, took her usual seat on the morning news programme despite her waters breaking earlier that day.
Appearing on the news at 4.30am on Wednesday (May 21), it was revealed her waters had broken 15 minutes before and that she was continuing to present before later heading to the hospital.
Speaking to TV viewers before giving the headlines, Dunn explained: “We do have some breaking news this morning, literally. Olivia’s water has broke and she is anchoring the news now in active labor.”

Jaquith replied: “Early labor, let’s not get carried away! I’m happy to be here and I’ll stay on the desk as long as I possibly can, but if I disappear that’s what’s going on.”
Joining in with the news announcement, the station displayed displayed an alert at the top of the screen that read, “DAYS PAST DUE DATE: 2” and also “Time Olivia’s Water Broke: 4:15 a.m.” with the live clock under it.
During the show, the pair also gave further updates including revealing Jaquith’s contractions were approximately two minutes apart and explaining that her waters had broken in the studio bathroom right before she took her seat to broadcast.
However a determined Jaquith wasn’t going to let it stop her presenting, as she cheekily joked: “I think I can get through a three-hour show.”
Jaquith made it until 8am and the end of the news broadcast, as she signed off to viewers: “Alright, well, hopefully I don’t see you tomorrow.”

The happy news was later revealed on Instagram that she had given birth to a healthy baby boy named Quincy, her first child with husband Tyn.
Jaquith has been praised by her colleagues as they also shared their congratulations to her and her husband after they welcomed their little boy.
News Director Stone Grissom said in a statement shared by the Mail Online: “We couldn’t be more thrilled for them. From her on-air pregnancy announcement earlier this year to running a half-marathon while expecting, Olivia has met every stage of this journey with grace and grit. Today was no exception.
“Olivia’s passion for storytelling, love for her hometown, and commitment to our viewers have always been evident.
“We’re overjoyed to soon welcome our newest (and tiniest!) member.”
