Strictly – It Takes Two came to a sudden halt as Janette Manrara addressed show backlash. During Tuesday’s (November 18) episode of the BBC programme, viewers rushed to complain after discovering the show isn’t filmed live, despite having long believed it was. They made the discovery when host Fleur East began discussing what La Voix and Aljaž Škorjanec would be performing at Blackpool, despite earlier reports confirming that the drag queen had been forced to pull out of Saturday’s show due to injury.

Opening tonight’s edition of It Takes Two, Janette interrupted the programme to ensure viewers they were live. The BBC host said: “We are live on BBC Two and iPlayer. Yes, I promise you we are live. Some loyal fans spotted we weren’t live last night but Tuesday’s are always pre-recorded on a Monday.” The former Strictly pro swiftly moved on, explaining what was coming up on the show.

Several fans were left baffled after Tuesday’s programme, having believed every episode was filmed live.

Taking to X to voice their confusion, one wrote: “Wow, well that’s news to me!!! I will never be able to watch it in the same way again.”

Another fumed: “Erm thought #ItTakesTwo was live??? The La Voix news broke 3 hrs ago!!??? Typical #BBC.”

A third said: “They specifically say that #ItTakesTwo is live, but they just had to put a message on screen with the fact that La Voix isn’t dancing, so they clearly aren’t live when that was hours ago?! #Strictly.”

While most It Takes Two episodes are broadcast live from Elstree Studios, the Tuesday edition is pre-recorded on Monday, shortly after that evening’s live show has aired.

La Voix

La Voix and Aljaž were due to perform the Samba at Blackpool Tower Ballroom this weekend, but have been given a bye to the following week as doctors have ordered the 45-year-old to rest.

Speaking on It Takes Two, La Voix – real name Chris Dennis – issued an update, saying: “This has been ongoing since the foxtrot. I felt a little niggle in my foot hence comments about me being flat-footed. I was thinking this will be fine, but it got gradually worse…

“Until on Saturday we had to change shoes, I couldn’t wear heels. I had to wear those awful flat shoes. We tried on Monday and it was really clear I was struggling in pain so we decided to be professional and call this, hoping with some rest I can be back.”
