Strictly Come Dancing professional Dianne Buswell has been inundated with messages as she shared a poignant personal update ahead of her return to the popular dance show. She is returning to the hit dance programme for the first time since her win last year with comedian Chris McCausland.

Those who followed the 2024 series will remember that Dianne had set her sights on making it past the show’s annual Blackpool special, as that was when her parents were due to fly over from Australia to watch her perform live on the show for the first time.

Her parents, Mark and Rina, ended up getting more than they had hoped for as fans rallied behind Dianne and Chris, crowning them the champions of the 22nd series, reports the Manchester Evening News.

In Dianne’s most recent update, she posted a photo of the moment her parents were able to congratulate her in person following her inaugural Strictly victory, as she celebrated Father’s Day from across the globe.

Taking to Instagram, the 37-year-old shared snaps and videos of her cherished father, who battled ill health before and after his trip to see his daughter in the UK, alongside a heartfelt tribute.

In a heartfelt message to her devoted followers, she expressed: “Happy fathers day @mark.3802 having you as my dad makes me smile every day [smiling face and heart emojis].”

She also took to her Instagram Story to say: “Happy Father’s Day dad [face holding back tears and heart emojis].” Her fans were swift to react. @danyser9 remarked: “In his eyes you can see all the love and pride he has for you. Happy Father’s Day.”
