BREAKINGThe Chase star shares huge career update away from ITV quiz show
Quiz show star Darragh Ennis has delighted fans with a huge career update. The Dublin-born ITV personality has shared that he and some of his The Chase co-stars have signed up for the Irish version of Celebrity Gogglebox.
Posting to his social media accounts, the 44-year-old quizzer shared a still of himself on the popular TV critic show alongside Chasers Jenny Ryan and Shaun Wallace. The trio of friends and colleagues seemed to be having a joyous time on the popular Channel 4 show as the image showed them all laughing and smiling. Darragh shared the exciting announcement on X (formerly Twitter) as he wrote: “Irish tweeps, tonight at 9 the chase does Gogglebox.” He echoed the post on Instagram too, writing: “The Chase is on #gogglebox #ireland tomorrow at 9pm on Virgin Media One.”

Most of their fans were absolutely delighted with the update. “I cannot wait for this! This is going to be brilliant,” one penned, while another added: “Can’t wait to see this! Three legends!”
However, others were disappointed that their appearance would only be available on Irish television. One wrote: “Hoping they’ll be a way to see this in the UK!”
Another asked: “Is there any way we’ll be able to get it in the uk? Would love to see it.” While one more commented on the Chasers actually showing off their real personalities instead of their quiz show alter egos, writing: “It’s strange seeing you in normal clothes and not your Chaser costumes.”
Darragh has previously shared that he would love to also appear on Channel 4’s Taskmaster – but the broadcasters bosses have told him it won’t be happening for one reason.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk at one of his quiz nights, in Southport’s Atkinson theatre, the 44-year-old admitted: “I want to do Taskmaster more than anything, but they won’t have me.”
He went on to explain: “Because I’m not a comedian and they focus on comedians. They basically said they probably won’t take me.”
When asked if he would do any other shows, he replied: “It would depend on the money. I would do, you know, most things. I applied for Dancing on Ice, but I didn’t get it. I can’t dance, so that’s probably why I didn’t get it!”
