Loose Women has been cancelled today (Wednesday, November 26) after a sudden last-minute shake-up to ITV’s scheduled daytime line-up. The announcement was made by beloved panellist Ruth Langsford at the end of Tuesday’s episode (November 25). The panel briefly discussed the changes on the airwaves, as Ruth declared: “That is it for today, I am afraid. We are not on tomorrow because of the budget.”
It comes after Loose Women’s yearly schedule was cut from 52 weeks down to 30 due to the extensive budget cuts at ITV. It is likely that the show was pulled from the airwaves due to Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves’ 2026 budget, which was announced on Tuesday (November 25).

These changes include an increase in the national minimum and living wages, as well as taxation changes. Ruth went on to explain that the show will be returning to the airwaves on Thursday (November 27) at 12.30pm on ITV1.
It comes after Ruth appeared to take a veiled swipe at her ex-husband Eamonn Holmes during last week’s show. The former dynamic duo announced they were separating after 27 years together in May 2024, following rumours of infidelity. Eamonn has since gone public with his new partner, Kaie Alexander.
As the Loose Women panel discussed former Prime Minister David Cameron’s cancer diagnosis, the question: “How involved are you in your partner’s health?” came up. They noted that Cameron’s prostate cancer was only discovered because his wife encouraged him to get it checked out.
Myleene said: “It is a known fact that men live longer when they’re married because they have wives, and women live longer when they aren’t married, shall we say… You do the maths!” The newly single presenter simply chuckled: “Good to know!”

Meanwhile, Ruth Langsford opened up about her poignant emotions she experiences during the festive period as her mother continues her ongoing health battle. The presenter’s 94-year-old mother, Joan, suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and now lives in a care facility near her home.
While she receives excellent care from professionals, the broadcaster handles all her mother’s personal requirements, such as accompanying her to medical consultations and managing shopping errands.
Conscious of her mum’s advanced age and condition, Ruth ensures Christmas is extra special and cherishes each precious moment they share together. She understands just how valuable time truly is, after suffering two devastating deaths within her family over the years.
Speaking to Woman Magazine, she revealed: “I confess I do make every Christmas extra special. I speak a lot about my lovely mum and about the battle she is facing, so every year with her is a privilege.”
