Emmerdale this week aired some big reveals as Caleb found out the truth about Joe and Dawn ended her marriage to Billy. But there was still plenty of things that left us confused!

1. Joe’s undying love for Dawn in Emmerdale this week

As we stated earlier this week Joe stealing a kidney is less far-fetched than the idea that he has risked everything because he is totally in love with dreary Dawn. But here we are.

Joe Tate is back in Emmerdale because he simply can’t live without the mum of three. He tried for a whole two weeks after he supposedly left the village for good, but as he told Kim, what good is giving yourself another shot at life without the woman you love.

Let’s put aside our issues with how mismatched they are for one second – they’ve known each other for five minutes. They’ve slept together a handful of times and as far as we know it, not spent much time getting to know each other with clothes on. So how can it be love?

Now let’s talk about how mismatched they are. Seriously, there’s no way her hoodies, greying t-shirts and miserable persona would attract Joe. Not one part of this rings true. So what is Joe really after? A life with dull Dawn and playing dad to her three screaming kids just doesn’t add up.

2. Where has Joe got so much money from?

And while we’re on the subject of Joe, how is he so blinking rich?! The Tates are wealthy, there’s no question about that. But they’re nice houses, luxury holidays and private schools wealthy. And Joe seems to be Bruce Wayne levels of rich. Is he actually Batman?

3. Jacob wanting Sarah back in Emmerdale this week

Medical student Jacob is going all-out to win Sarah Sugden back. He has tried to ask her back, when that didn’t work he set out to prove Kammy is a cheater. But he was left with egg on his face when the ‘Lily’ he heard Kammy talking about was actually a car.

So now, Jacob and Kammy are having a dirt bike race to see who can win Sarah’s heart. She actually doesn’t know about the race yet, but chances are she’s not going to be that impressed with all this macho nonsense.

All that notwithstanding, just why does Jacob want Sarah back anyway? He was downright horrible to her when they were together, dumped her for no real reason and genuinely never seemed that interested in her. It makes no sense whatsoever that he would now go to such extreme lengths to win back a girl he wasn’t fussed about. Or is it just his male ego being bruised?

4. Why doesn’t Charity like Kammy?

So this one has us confused – why is Charity so against Kammy? She is firmly Team Jacob, wanting Kammy gone for good. But we can’t understand why.

So far as we can see, Kammy has done nothing but be nice to Sarah. He was even willing to take the blame to protect her when she got arrested for stealing – something he had nothing to do with.

Whereas Jacob broke Sarah’s heart – more than once – did nothing but upset her when they were together (see above) and yet Charity thinks he’s the better guy for her granddaughter? Er, why exactly?

5. Why does everyone know about what happened to Kerry in Emmerdale this week?

Call us pernickity, but there’s this thing called doctor-patient confidentiality. So how come the whole village knows John misdiagnosed Kerry? Mackenzie even made a joke about it this week – suggesting Kerry didn’t nominate John for the hero award after the mistake he made.

Surely he shouldn’t actually know what happened? Mind you, Kerry’s not one for keeping quiet, she’s probably been shouting her mouth off all over the place.

6. Why has no one tried to find Nate?

Tracy was exposed for stealing because Nate hasn’t been providing for Frankie, but when Kerry urged her to track Nate down and get money through the proper channels, Tracy basically said she couldn’t be bothered.

Aaron wants Nate to come to his wedding and is adamant he should be there, but Nate isn’t responding to messages. He’s not responding to anyone’s messages. So why aren’t alarm bells ringing?

Surely Nate’s fierce and overprotective mum would have been in touch with Tracy to say she can’t get hold of Nate? Everyone seems to think it’s fine that no one’s heard from him and he’s cut his ex-wife and daughter off. Instead of calling him rotten for abandoning them, maybe they should actually think outside the box and try to find him, properly, not just by leaving an unanswered message.
