While many expected Tapper to appear on the popular late-night show as part of his promotional tour, sources close to the situation revealed that the decision not to sit down with Jimmy Kimmel stemmed from a scheduling conflict that couldn’t be resolved in time for the appearance. Although Tapper has made frequent rounds on media platforms in the past to discuss his writing and political insights, this time around, his team reportedly had to make difficult choices about where to allocate time, balancing his book launch with his demanding role at CNN. Fans may still see him on other major shows soon, but for now, his absence from Kimmel’s stage has left viewers wondering what might have been an engaging — and likely humorous — conversation.

While Jake was scheduled to appear on the late-night talk show on May 19, he no longer will be since they sho has been canceled. The X, formerly Twitter account, Call to Activism, announced the news.

“BREAKING: Jake Tapper’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel scheduled for tonight has been CANCELLED—with no explanation from the network. How does that make you feel?” the X account wrote.

There was speculation in the comments under the post as to why the Jimmy Kimmel Live! episode featuring Jake was slashed from premiering on-air.

“Easy call for Kimmel who doesn’t want to face any negative music for the Dem party. The question is will Tapper go on Megyn Kelly tomorrow?” one quipped.

A second suggested, “I suspect his PR firm told Tapper that getting booed off the stage would not help his book sales.” Meanwhile, others expressed how it served Jake right for his episode on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to be canceled since he was planning to promote his tell-all book about ex President Joe Biden.

“EVERYBODY should cancel Jake Tapper’s appearances,” one X user emphasized, while another fumed, “Tapper has really debased himself and his family. Love all of this for him. Such a smarmy little a- -hole.

One other shared: “An excellent decision by Disney, ABC and Jimmy Kimmel… we continue to pray for President Biden’s full and expeditious recovery.”

The TV star co-authored his book, Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again, with Axios’ Alex Thompson. The book is going to be released sometime this week.

Conservatives are claiming the book more of a “cover up” than an honest account of what was happening during the Biden administration.

The popular conservative account End Wokeness recently posted a 2020 clip of Tapper along with a picture of the new book, and commented, “Tapper then: It’s a conspiracy theory to say Biden has cognitive decline. It’s a stutter. Tapper now: A book on the cover up.” Jake opened up about his book on-air earlier this year.

“As viewers of ‘The Lead’ know, I’ve been covering the concerns about President Biden’s age and health for years,” he informed CNN viewers amid announcing the book in February. “I literally asked him about it in October 2022, and we’ve challenged Democrats and White House officials about it.”
