Coronation Street‘s Cassie Plummer gets a surprise second chance from Steve McDonald next week.
The controversial character is delighted as she realises that she hasn’t ruined her romantic chances with Steve after all.
Cassie and Steve had been growing closer for months, after striking up an unexpected bond last year.
That all changed in recent episodes when Cassie was caught out for spiking Ken Barlow’s drinks and using his credit card to steal from him.

ITV
The upsetting revelations left Cassie as public enemy number one on the cobbles, although she was brought back from the brink when her loyal mum Evelyn returned to defend her.
Next week, Steve backs down as he apologises to Cassie for treating her harshly recently.
Steve is busy house-sitting at Tim and Sally Metcalfe’s home, so he invites Cassie in for a cup of tea.
The atmosphere turns romantic between the pair and Cassie suggests that they should enjoy a skinny dip in Tim and Sally’s hot tub. Will this seal the deal – and could they become a proper couple?

ITV
As previously revealed, the hot tub antics have disastrous consequences when Daniel Osbourne’s son Bertie sneaks into the garden and has a nasty accident in the water, which sees the youngster come close to drowning.
Claire Sweeney, who plays Cassie, recently revealed that she “would love” for her character to end up with Steve on a long-term basis.
She said: “There’s so much fun in the scenes with them. Cassie could have been doing some evil stuff and thinking terrible things, but the minute he comes she turns into a giggly teenager.
“He just strips all of this away from her and it’s really very genuine. They just can’t help themselves. It’s literally forbidden fruit. He should not be going near Cassie.
“No one’s talking to Cassie. She’s a pariah, persona non grata on the cobbles, and suddenly he can’t help himself, he literally can’t. It’s lust, but with genuine fondness and love as well.”
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Friday, March 28 on ITV1 and ITVX.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
