Coronation Street reveals a shocking secret over Betsy Swain’s shooting in Wednesday’s episode.
Betsy’s mum Lisa confides in her partner Carla Connor following the high-stakes hostage situation that unfolded at No.1.
In dramatic scenes this week, Lisa came to Carla’s rescue as Rob held her captive at Ken Barlow’s house while armed with a gun.
The ensuing scuffle saw the weapon go off, with a bullet hitting Lisa’s daughter Betsy as she was outside in the ginnel.

In Wednesday’s episode, Betsy’s fate is revealed after she was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment.
A doctor confirms that the bullet has been removed successfully from Betsy’s shoulder, but the incident could have permanent consequences for the teen.
He tells Carla and Lisa: “The bullet was lodged in her upper arm, causing swelling near an adjacent nerve. She was given a blood transfusion due to severe blood loss.
“We need to carry out more tests to assess the extent of the damage. I’m very sorry, but we are potentially looking at a life-changing injury for Betsy.”

Later, during an emotional heart-to-heart outside the hospital, Lisa opens up to Carla about what really happened behind closed doors when she went head-to-head with Rob.
Breaking down in tears, Lisa says: “[Rob] didn’t fire the gun. I did. It was my finger that pulled the trigger. I shot my own daughter.”
Will Betsy find out the truth? Fans can see how the drama plays out in full when the episode airs tonight at 8pm on ITV1, or right now on ITVX.
