Coronation Street‘s Dee-Dee Bailey battles with her conflicted emotions next week – as she starts to have doubts about giving up baby Laila.
In upcoming scenes, Dee-Dee starts helping to take care of Laila until her brother James arrives to take the baby to her new life in the States.
Before long, she unexpectedly starts to bond with her daughter – and, during a chat with Eileen Grimshaw, Dee-Dee confesses that she’s worried she’s become too attached…
“Since Laila is evil Joel’s daughter and Dee-Dee always intended to have her adopted, she never expected to feel this maternal love,” our Corrie insider reminds us.

“Being a mum herself, Eileen is the perfect person for Dee-Dee to confide in. No-nonsense as always, she urges Dee-Dee to follow her heart.”
Later, her uncle Ronnie is touched to see Dee-Dee cooing over Laila. Opening up to best friend Alya Nazir, Dee-Dee spills that she’s feeling bonded with Laila – so Alya begs her to rethink her plans.
“Everyone around Dee-Dee can see the beginnings of a special bond between her and Laila,” our insider continues.
“She’s feeling totally torn – being a mum would change her whole life and keeping Laila would rob her brother of the chance to be a dad, but she can’t ignore her heart.

ITV
“Alya assures Dee-Dee that James would understand and forgive her eventually – this is the hardest decision Dee-Dee’s ever had to make.”
Will Dee-Dee decide to keep her baby, or will she say goodbye to her forever? And whatever she chooses, will she come to regret it?
James travelled back to the US at the start of this month after his partner Danny Tomlinson was involved in a nasty car accident.
Dee-Dee later received a worrying update from James, who explained that Danny was in a critical condition and had been put in an induced coma.
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday 5 May on ITV1 and ITVX.
