Coronation Street HEARTACHE Ahead As Two Iconic Characters Face DIVORCE In ITVX Early Episode With Clues Hidden In PAST SCENES
Coronation Street has teased the future of Steve and Tracy McDonald, as they appear to close the book on their complicated marriage.
The pair’s second marriage officially broke down last year when Tracy began an affair with Tommy Orpington. When the truth was exposed, Tracy decided to move to Spain with the former footballer, leaving her life in Weatherfield behind.
However, it wasn’t long before she returned to the cobbles after her relationship with Tommy turned sour.
Meanwhile, Steve has been enjoying a secret romance with Cassie Plummer, despite the discovery that she had been conning and drugging his father-in-law Ken.

Monday’s episode sees Tracy attempting to move on from her failed marriage and recent relationship, as she flirts with newcomer Carl Webster.
After Carl offers to do some mechanic work for free, Tracy agrees to buy him a drink as a thank you and the pair make plans for a date. The flirty exchange is witnessed by Steve, who admits: “It’s still a bit weird for me.”
“I’m not in denial or anything, it’s just… I just wanna know what happens next, you know?” says Steve, to which Tracy replies: “Well, divorce. What else is there?”

Later, Steve shares his conflicted feelings about the divorce, but Tim is unsure of what the issue is.
“It’s been on the cards for a while, hasn’t it?” Tim reasons. “I mean you’ve both been with other people and that.”
Steve laments over the fact that this will be his sixth divorce, but Tim points out that it’s actually the seventh, leaving Steve feeling even more gloomy. He declares himself a “hopeless husband”, and admits that he envies Tim’s marriage to Sally.
Is this officially the end of the road for Steve and Tracy?
Coronation Street airs these scenes tonight at 8pm on ITV1. The episode is also streaming early now on ITVX.
