Coronation Street star Tina O’Brien BREAKS SILENCE on Sarah and Kit’s relationship future

Coronation Street star Tina O’Brien has confirmed the future of her character Sarah Platt’s relationship with Kit Green.
Sarah and Kit have been enjoying a romance for several months now and have already faced some big challenges, including Kit’s stabbing at the hands of Mick Michaelis.
But speaking exclusively to us at Inside Soap, Tina said that things are currently plain sailing for the pair as their relationship continues to grow more serious.
“Sarah’s in a positive place,” she said. “Work and relationship-wise, things are going well. Bethany’s in London, so she’s missing her, but in regards to family and everything else, things are really good!”
Unlucky-in-love Sarah already knows that her detective date has some huge skeletons in the closet, notably after finding out that he is the biological father of troubled teen Brody Michaelis.
But is Kit hiding anything else? Tina tells us that her character has faith in her boyfriend, though she is also aware that there could be some more surprises to come…
“She knows that Kit has a side that she doesn’t quite understand because he’s secretive and private about certain things,” Tina explained.
“She knows there’s a mysterious side to him, but apart from that, she trusts him and thinks that maybe they do have a future together…”

It seems that Sarah and Kit might be together for the long haul, so it’s just as well that Tina thoroughly enjoys working with her co-star Jacob Roberts, who debuted as Kit in May 2024.
She told us that it was a pleasant surprise to find out that she would be sharing scenes with Jacob – who is nominated for Best Newcomer at this year’s Inside Soap Awards.
“I was really pleased, as Jacob is a lovely guy,” Tina said. “I knew that I was going to be working with someone that I’d get on with – apart from the height difference and the fact that they’ve had to give me stilettos to work with him!”
