Former Coronation Street star Louis Emerick has called out the ITV soap over one particular one storyline.
Currently starring as Donny Clark in Hollyoaks, Emerick previously played Mike Thornberry in Corrie in 2018 — and he’s not afraid to share his thoughts on what’s going on at his former home.
The actor took to X/Twitter to voice his displeasure at the newly kicked-off storyline, in which Abi Webster is tempted by Kevin’s handsome brother Carl (and they will end up having an affair).
“#Soaps: Kev/Abbie and The brother!” he wrote. “How many times dya reckon we’ve had that #eternaltriangle.
“A couple, a sibling shows up… affair starts… come on producers Please give That story a rest!”
The actor continued: “In all my circle of friends thru all the yrs, I’ve Never known That situ happen!”

Sally Carman, who plays Abi, recently spoke out about why Abi can’t resist the temptation, despite knowing the chaos it could cause.
“They had this shock meeting where they ran into each other and there was instant electricity. Then he turned up in her life and turned out to be Kevin’s brother, which was gutting because he’d awakened something in Abi,” she said.

“I think with her being an addict, there was that rush, that adrenaline that she hasn’t had for a very long time. It completely turned her from red to blue.”
She added that while Abi has the “calm and loving” life she’s craved for so long, “a massive part of who Abi is, is dangerous”.
