Coronation Street‘s Todd Grimshaw faces another unexpected rejection from his new love interest Theo Silverton next week.
Todd is baffled as Theo vows to cut all ties with him just hours after they’ve spent the day in bed together.
Show bosses have cast James Cartwright in the role of Theo, a scaffolder who crosses paths with Todd for the first time in this week’s episodes.
As we’ve previous revealed, Theo reacts badly when he realises that Todd’s mum Eileen and aunt Julie are trying to set them up as a couple.

Theo protests that he’s not interested because he isn’t gay, but Todd soon discovers that Theo was merely playing hard to get when they end up sharing flirtatious messages on a dating app.
In follow-on scenes next week, Theo arranges to meet up with Todd at No.11, where they’ll have the house to themselves for the afternoon.
Theo seems nervous as he insists on coming through the kitchen door, rather than being spotted on the main street. He apologises for his strange approach and finally starts to relax as they open some beers together.

Todd is relieved when Theo eventually starts to open up, admitting that he fancies him.
The guys share a passionate kiss and head upstairs, where they enjoy an afternoon in bed together.

Later, Theo warns Todd that his life is complicated and it’s best to take a low-key approach to their romance. When Eileen and Julie arrive back home alongside George Shuttleworth, Theo rushes out but forgets his coat.
Theo returns that evening and seems to have gone cold on Todd again, as he suddenly declares that their passionate day should be a one-off.
Will Todd find out why Theo is so hesitant about their romantic connection?
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Thursday, April 3 on ITV1 and ITVX.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
