ESPN has made a massive decision on the future of one of their top TV hosts.

The network revealed an extension deal to one of its top young stars on Wednesday.

ESPN revealed that it has signed Laura Rutledge to a multi-year contract deal.

The 36-year-old will continue to be the host of the daily program NFL Live, which she has led since 2020.

Rutledge will also remain as the host of the college football show SEC Nation.

ESPN has also revealed that she will have a bigger role as a sideline reporter for more marquee NFL and college football games, as well as big events like postseason games, the NFL Draft, and the Masters.

“Laura is a consummate professional and wonderful teammate, said ESPN’s president of content Burke Magnus in the press release.

“Her versatility allows us to utilize her in multiple roles, across numerous sports, throughout the year.

“We are fortunate to have her.”

Rutledge also contributes to the network’s studio shows Get Up and First Take.

Social media users shared their approval of ESPN’s decision to retain Rutledge’s services.

“Congratulations to one of the best,” one wrote.

The contract details haven’t been publicly disclosed.

Rutledge has worked with ESPN for 11 years.

She received positive reviews for her coverage of the College Football Playoff semifinal Sugar Bowl in the aftermath of the New Year’s Day terror attack in New Orleans.

Rutledge will now receive more opportunities in the future.

Last year, she was asked to cover ESPN’s coverage of the Masters.

Rutledge’s extension comes at a time when her NFL Live colleague, Dan Orlovsky, is set to enter free agency.

“ESPN has provided me the support and freedom to build my dream career since I arrived eager to learn and grow,” Rutledge said in the press release.

“I appreciate its continued faith in me and hope they recognize the gratitude and pride I have working for the company.

“On a personal level, so many colleagues have become mentors and dear friends during my 10 years and I have relationships with them that will always be special, including my NFL Live team who I consider family.
