TV host Dylan Dreyer showed fans she is just like us mere mortals after she made a brutally honest confession that she lost her child while out and about in New York.
The Today Show favorite kept it real with fans when she revealed a frightening parenting experience with son Rusty. In a recent backstage video – taken during her trip to Miami with the Third Hour – Dylan answered a series of questions while on board the MSC World America cruise ship, and moved on to the topic of her three young boys.
She didn’t hold back when she was asked about a “real mom moment” that she’d had that week. Dylan replied, “I lost Rusty at the Museum of Ice Cream!”
Thankfully, the doting mom was soon reunited with the three-year-old, who she shares with husband Brian Fichera. She is also mom to Calvin, eight, and Oliver, five.

Dylan has been open and honest about her motherhood journey and her children often appear on her socials as she shares insights into her life as a busy working mom. She adores cooking with her children and Calvin in particular has inherited this interest. From a young age he has appeared on a segment of her show called “Cooking with Cal.”
Certainly making the most of family time is of the utmost importance to Dylan, who has been jetting around the world for work over the last few months, barely having a moment at home.
The Today Show meteorologist has spent the past month in France on a special assignment and then she headed to Augusta, Georgia, for her next featured segment. Joining her co-stars on a video call Dylan, 43, was in the city to provide coverage of a women’s amateur golf tournament.
Speaking with Al Roker, Craig Melvin and Kaylee Hartung, it was revealed also in April, Today’s third hour will be presented live from Port Miami in South Florida. Sponsored by MSC Cruises the show will see the hosts go for a journey on their newest vessel the MSC World America.
Al confirmed that Dylan still has plenty of work ahead of her as she will join him and Craig on the cruise. He said, “When Dylan gets back she has to unpack and then repack for the next one.”
No wonder with such a busy schedule, during a segment on the Third Hour in December, she spoke about the importance of making every weekend count. During a discussion with co-hosts Al Roker, Craig Melvin and Sheinelle Jones, about the idea of treating weekends like vacation days, the Misty the Cloud author admitted that she already did. “I feel like I kind of do that. Weekends is when we make a big breakfast, there are sports and stuff but we will watch movies, we might do popcorn for dinner. They are very unscheduled,” she said.
