Dylan Dreyer just gave her dad the perfect birthday present!

In a March 22 Instagram post, the TODAY star revealed that she celebrated her father’s 80th birthday by getting all his kids together with him in one room! The adorable family photo showed off three generations of boys — her father, Jim; her two older brothers, Mike and James; and, of course, her three beautiful sons, Calvin, Oliver, and Rusty.
Everybody looked so happy to be together!
“Surprised my dad for his 80th by flying in my brothers! Lots of family time and so…many…boys!!!! Happy birthday to the best dad in the world!!” Dreyer wrote in a caption.
80th birthdays don’t come around too often, and Dreyer made the most out of the special day by flying in her brothers to New York City, where Dreyer lives with her kids and husband Brian.

While the weekend was all about her father’s milestone birthday, the occasion was also near and dear to Dreyer’s heart. She wishes her family lived closer to her, too. In an August 2023 Instagram post, the star called the distance between her and her brother, Mike, “heartbreaking.”
“It’s heartbreaking to live so far away from my brother and his family, but we certainly know how to make up for lost time!” Dreyer wrote.

The longtime TODAY star has an unparalleled relationship with her dad. She refers to him as a “truly caring family man” and her “buddy” — and it shows! In a heartfelt Father’s Day article penned back in 2014 for TODAY.com, Dreyer spoke about her dad in a way only she could.
“On Father’s Day, it’s not about gifts for my dad. It’s about moments: getting to spend some time together, catching up, having a few laughs, a few jokes, a few drinks, some food — quality time,” she explained. “That’s what I try to give my dad as often as possible. Some time to set aside life and work and chaos, and hang out with my buddy.”
More than a decade later, Dreyer is still doing just that — she gave her dad another unforgettable moment that wouldn’t otherwise have been possible!
