Emmerdale has aired a major moment for Dawn Fletcher, as she made her choice between Joe Tate and husband Billy.

Dawn has not only been having an affair with Joe under Billy’s nose but under the same roof, and earlier this week, Joe told Dawn he wants to be with her properly.

Tonight’s instalment began with Dawn breaking up an argument between the kids, and Kim warning Joe that Dawn comes as a “package deal – and a messy one, at that”.

Later on, Kim and Dawn watched how great Billy was being with the kids, but when he suggested the four of them went out for the day, Dawn said she was too busy.

Dawn cried in the gazebo as she flicked through pictures of her family on her phone, and when Manpreet Sharma noticed her, she invited her round for some brandy.

Manpreet said Dawn had been under so much pressure lately that her mind and body has reached breaking point, and (completely oblivious to the affair) urged her to do something “selfish” she could enjoy without thinking about anyone else, just for a little bit.

Soon after, Dawn met Joe in the woods and told him she had something she wanted to say to him.

“I don’t know if you’re serious,” she asked him. “You’re not gonna change your mind in three months? You just… ran off to Chicago. I need to know I can rely on you, that this is not some whim.

“You must know this is absolutely huge for me. And I have baggage. And I’m not just talking about the kids.”

He insisted that he was serious and that he wants a future with her, stating she makes him happy and he doesn’t care about her past or anything like that.

She kissed him and said that she had chosen him, but soon noticed the bandaged wound on his chest. He played it off as an accident in the shower in Chicago, and said he didn’t tell her because he didn’t want her to worry.

Dawn also stated that she didn’t love Billy anymore and promised to tell him the truth, warning Joe that “all hell is gonna break loose”. But Joe was adamant that them having each other was all that mattered.

We already know that there’s going to big some drama in the storyline next week, but what will happen once Dawn learns about Joe’s kidney plot?
