Emmerdale‘s Jacob Gallagher faces fresh heartbreak next week as he realises that he may have missed his chance with Sarah Sugden.
The trainee doctor’s thoughts return to Sarah as he tries to get back on an even keel following the tragic death of his mum Leyla Harding.
Jacob and Sarah developed a romantic spark at the start of the year, but the pair faced a rocky road with multiple dramas threatening to tear them apart.
When Jacob lost his mum Leyla in the limo crash last month, it seemed like the final straw as he pushed Sarah away rather than embracing her support.

In next week’s episodes, Jacob comes to his senses and realises that he now regrets ending his relationship with Sarah.
He turns up at the garage in the hope of talking things through, but Sarah stands firm and insists that she isn’t interested any more.
Since Jacob’s rejection, Sarah has been getting to know village newcomer Kammy Hadiq, despite reservations from her grandmother Charity Dingle.
Speaking recently, Katie Hill – who plays Sarah – teased the possibility of Jacob and Kammy going head-to-head for her character’s affections.

She laughed: “I think that will definitely be on the cards. It’s funny as well because they’re so different. Kammy’s a bit of a bad boy. He’s a bit of a cheeky chap.
“Jacob, you know, he’s a trainee doctor, way more sensible than Kammy is. So it’ll be interesting to see which way she goes.”
