Fans of Emmerdale have predicted that Joe Tate will be attacked and k!lled by those he’s wronged in the village. Since his return to the soap last year, he’s wasted little time in making enemies, breaking up one marriage and stealing another man’s kidney.

Writing on social media this week, fans shared their theories on how Joe’s comeuppance might play out. But could he fall victim to mob justice?

Writing on Reddit, one viewer suggested: “I’d actually prefer mob style vigilantism rather than a whodunit. With half the village in on it and the other half protecting them all.”

“You mean like a “Murder On The Orient Express” situation that would be an interesting predicament to see a whole village be caught up in,” another agreed.

“if Joe gets k!lled it won’t be a case of who did it but who didn’t. a bit like the orient express,” a third suggested, over on X.
